bluesbrothers Posted 31 August 2012 Share Posted 31 August 2012 Some say he once hit a seagull when taking a goal kick. Some say he bleeds Guinness. All we know is - He's called Conrad Logan. He's a sitting in the sidelines, happily going about his business as Leicester's second-choice keeper. Now and again when Kasper gets sent off (which we all know can happen) he'll step in, look ok then crap it up in his second game, to take his spot on the bench for another year or two. Watch this space, in 10 years time we'll wake up to find he's become our longest serving player surpassed the world record for the longest serving player, and sign off with a testimonial against god-knows-who. Just a boredom-induced sidenote from the Transfer Deadline circus.

davieG Posted 31 August 2012 Share Posted 31 August 2012 Isn't he already our longest 'serving' player? Depending on the definition of serving.

indierich06 Posted 31 August 2012 Share Posted 31 August 2012 He's the hero Leicester deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll let him sit on the bench. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.
bluesbrothers Posted 31 August 2012 Author Share Posted 31 August 2012 I still reckon we'll use robot technology to prolong his illustrious career into his old age.
lovelcfc Posted 31 August 2012 Share Posted 31 August 2012 Why the hell he's still here I don't know? He's been on your bench for years surely you'd wanna play at some point

Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight. It's a metaphor for life. Some people were meant to be heroes, like Kasper (it's in his blood) and some were meant to sit on the bench and do a steady job that no one notices. Here's to Conrad, a hero for the average man. By the way, how menacing and dangerous does the name Conrad Logan sound? He should be in an action movie.

indierich06 Posted 31 August 2012 Share Posted 31 August 2012 Why the hell he's still here I don't know? He's been on your bench for years surely you'd wanna play at some point It's basically free money and he's milking it for as long as he can, fair play to him - once he leaves Leicester he'll never get as big a pay cheque ever again and he'll probably float around the lower leagues for a few years. You're a long time retired in this game and I'm sure he doesn't mind sitting on the bench, training a couple of times a week and getting a big fat pay cheque every week. At the end of the day, he's never really let us down. He's not good enough to play for the first team but he's probably alright to have as backup for the odd game every now and then. Interesting side note - he was in my GCSE P.E. class at school, nice lad.
davieG Posted 31 August 2012 Share Posted 31 August 2012 He's got plenty of time to have a decent career in the lower leagues, for the present he's on a decent wage until June 2013 with little chance of a career threatening injury. He obviously knows his limitations but at 26 he'll only be 28 when his contract expires and with little wear and tear on his body could still get another 10 -12 years playing and earning at a lower league level. It suits him and it suits us so I don't see the problem we really should be happy and in a sense grateful to have someone like him on the bench, he'll rarely get a game because even if Kasper was injured and out for a while Pearson would probably get a loanee in. Collymore Posted 31 August 2012 Share Posted 31 August 2012 Great thread. He's a legend. Conrads quite happy to earn his pay cheque by sitting on his arse doing nothing. If only some of the other players could take a leaf from his book and stop the drama.

Guest MattP Posted 31 August 2012 Share Posted 31 August 2012 Whoever said ambition was dead didn't think of big Conrad. The only man who could get "who the fcuking hell are you?" sang to him at his own testimonial.
bluesbrothers Posted 31 August 2012 Author Share Posted 31 August 2012 We could request Leon Crncic to play at said testimonial.
