Libertine Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 We were playing really good stuff at the end of last season to be fair.
Hitesh Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 We were playing really good stuff at the end of last season to be fair. 138265 Agree with you. and hopefully with some of the players in the squad that CL has wanted, he has filled the gaps. Its looking prmoising, just hope that we can continue last seasons performances into this season and be more consistant. The only the thing i am worried about is the small squad we have. IF we get several key injuries especially in defence and on the left we may struglle. However, you have to take the postitives out of a bad situation and maybe the youngsters can come up and shine!
Louise Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 It might just be the way the OS has written it up but to me that interview doesn't read like Levein is really happy with the performances (apart from Wesolowski's), not to say he's disappointed or upset but it doesn't sound exactly like we played 'better football', just that he wants us to and this was more of a fitness exercise.

Thracian Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 Manage your expectations and you wont be pizzed of 138354 There were two particularly pertinent remarks in Levein's summary: a) He singled out the main strikers for praise mentioning the need for "confidence" which might suggest that he is still unsure of being able to bring in another centre-forward bearing in mind they would have to be at least as good but hopefully better than what we have. In other words he is voicing the fact that he has faith in them. At two goals apiece it suggests the start of a true partnership but it might also suggest that the creative play in more incisive. B) His comments on Wes suggest that, while he hoped to include him in the Norway squad for experience, he has moved a stage further and now sees him "surprisingly" as being able to properly hold his own in such company. "What a bonus" was the impression I had of slant of his remarks. A bonus indeed.
