Foxfromburbage Posted 13 September 2012 Posted 13 September 2012 My plums ain't what they used to be.
Parafox Posted 14 September 2012 Author Posted 14 September 2012 It's just the terrible weather coinciding with his death. There's an apple tree that overhangs our garden and has dropped countless apples for as long as I can remember. This year though it hasn't produced any at all. Actually kind of glad because we don't eat them, so we have to clear them all otherwise they rot and attract endless wasps. Yes I know it's coincidental having read all the posts about the effect ofweather. It just felt very odd when we went to see if there were any and found absolutely nothing.

MooseBreath Posted 14 September 2012 Posted 14 September 2012 I've experienced a few things which make me wonder if there isn't some deeper connection between the earth and all living things. So last year when my uncle - who I didn't really know except to say he was getting old - appeared in a dream where he peered silently through a window at myself and the rest of my family, I woke up with the dream fresh in my mind and wondered if he might have died. Turns out he hadn't, but he did die two days later. Was he coming to say goodbye? Is that even possible? I don't know, but it's a big coincidence given I had never dreamt about this man before, and somehow I kind of knew what was happening.

Something very similar happened to me and my ex missus years ago . But it turned out my uncle had been a peeping tom for years and had a thing for her, and had died of a heart attack after being chased away by a passing policeman . Seriously though , that is an intersting event and it does make you wonder if there may be ways of communication that defy explanation .
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 September 2012 Posted 14 September 2012 I think Rocket Ron has been lucky, I've been told it's a shit year for apples. There were loads on my tree last year but hardly any this time round. My Dad's two trees have been the same. No crumble for Bellend
Reynard Bleu Posted 14 September 2012 Posted 14 September 2012 I have been at the bedside of my mother and my great auntie as they passed away, at different times I should say, several years apart. A few hours before they died they botb told me that Jack had been to see them earlier and had held their hand and comforted them, assuring them they would be fine and to just sleep. The Jack they referred to was my Grandfather who died may years before both. They were both very ill and not really compus mentis, but the words were almost excatly the same.
davieG Posted 15 September 2012 Posted 15 September 2012 The wettest summer for 100 years has wiped out a fifth of Britain's apple crop, a growers' trade group has said. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-19604885
