Guest MattP Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Yep, it is more about how many you win. We could go unbeaten for the rest of the season but if they were all draws we would finish with 47 points and perhaps get relegated. We could lose 15 games over the season but winning the other 31 would give us 93 points and possibly the league title. Obviously they are two ridiculous extremes used to illustrate the point that losing more than 10 games doesn't mean we can't make the top six, not winning enough would be worse. Exactly the point I was making. After ten games I'd rather win 5 and lose 5 rather than win 2, draw 8 and be unbeaten.
5waller5 Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 I've done a bit of searching through the last decade's worth of stats and it seems to me that 10 losses is many os you can make for autos, and around 13 as many as you can make for play offs. There are obviously exceptions ... like in 08-09 where 10 losses meant finishing 8th!!!! Of the opposite as already stated ..... make of it what you will - but I think it's interesting!!!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Wins are the key. Draws and losses are no good. We MUST get together a run of consecutive WINS to stand any chance. Blackburn, for example, have now won 3/4 on the bounce? That's what we need to do, starting this evening. fingers crossed Col

Think that's been the case with us for a long while now
