Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 The only must-win games are relating to a possible promotion or avoidable relegation. This is a please-for-the-love-of-God win. I think we deserve a bit of luck, we're at home to a smallish side and we have a decent squad. It would shut some people up and instil a bit of confidence in the fans, the players and the owners. If this ends up us losing 2-1 again, I'm going to just watch Groundhog Day instead of all remaining Leicester matches for the rest of the season.
marbelladave Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Aye. I do think it's a must win game for the above reason, but I also think Pearson might be scuppered in terms of his job if we lose tonight. We can say it would be stupid to sack him but I don't have an iota of belief in these owners when it comes to that. In any case we need to start picking up points or we'll fall behind. Lets fae it though, it will be a miracle if there's a good atmosphere tonight. I feel the players confidence is pivotal, another bad result and they will lose belief both in the game plan and ultimately in the manager...... Can NFP turn it round, make the changes that make the system work? I really hope he can, there is a lot about NFP's managerial style that I really like, but are his coaching skills up to it....... Alternatively, does he have the balls to hire a proper first team coach, hopefully one who can get the attacking players working more effectively..... It his worth remembering that NFP's best season came with a certain Chris Powell as first team coach......
Kitchandro Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Anyone else think night games have a lot better atmosphere? If you're living in the 1980s maybe
Corky Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 I would say this is must-win. We do not want to get cut adrift early on and this is a chance to close the gap on the teams near the top. Positions are not so important, the points are. You could be 13th and level on points with 8th. The points are so crucial.
indierich06 Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 We need a good win and we need it badly...... Confidence must be taking one hell of a hit after recent results, if we don't bounce back now we could be in deep doo-doo. Team selection for tonight will be interesting, should give us a clue where NFP thinks the problems are. You can look at it that way, or you can say that confidence will be high due to the fact that we've performed well at home so far this season, we remain unbeaten at home and we haven't even conceeded a goal at home yet. Our away form is slightly troubling (although the signs of improvement are there) but there's nothing wrong with our home form at all.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Must win game...? It could be for Mr P. Nothing short of a good win tonight, may well have the board thinking. Mind you, I think we should/will win tonight.
bigsteve Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 We need to get behind our team whatever and help them rather than wait for the first mistake to happen and then open our mouths and start shouting rubbish, lets start SUPPORTING OUR TEAM !!! From the first whistle lets make a difference
The Year Of The Fox Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 I'll be there.singing my hearts out for the lads

AyewJoking Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Cagey, Pearson out-esque with a hint of library.
Jace Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Cagey, Pearson out-esque with a hint of library. You mean like the Ricoh but with less empty seats?
1964FOX Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Unfortunately wher I sit in SK1 night games leave a lot o empty seats. I fear I will singing on my own but will not remain silent. With regards to th game we have performed well so far this season but been unlucky away from home so I see no reason why we shouldn't be capable of winning. A win will. Put us in the top ten at least and with the unlucky decent performances all this talk of Pearson being sacked will be. Irrelevant.
Reynard Bleu Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 I want every game to be a must win game? How many games are there where we/the team think it will be OK to lose before a ball is kicked. If we mean its a must win or else, what's the or else?
ibbosuk Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Burnley and Hull games are 100% must win, due to the pressure of 0 points from 9, away from home. I also believe that if we don't take Point(S) from the to following away games, (Middlesbrough (A))and Huddersfield (A).............Pearson will be toast. You may not agree, but that is what I believe....We will see aye.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 We so need to win tonight after some of last nights games. Blackburn are flying high and 'waste of money' Rhodes scored again. Hull won again, scoring 3 away from home with Koren once more on the money. CMS got his 6th of the season. We have to string a run together and kick start the season. Bolton lost again though.. Mills?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Of course the atmosphere won't be shite! I'm going and will be bellowing out 'positivity' in my big, booming voice! Even the L1 lads will look over and think 'who's that fat bloke making all the noise'... He must be a real fan!

5waller5 Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 It's as near to a must-win game as you get. 5 losses in less than a month into the season and we are already facing an uphill struggle for promotion. If that's the case it's bye bye mr manager .... and that means it's must-win.
Guest MattP Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Must win game? wtf has happened, football fans have gone mad. Must win games used to be when their were two games of the season left and you were four points off the play offs.
kingfox Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Night games are always boring and quiet. So no surprise if it's a shit fest, on the pitch and in the stands.

Must win games used to be when their were two games of the season left and you were four points off the play offs. Or when you've already lost half of the games that you will lose across the whole season for a promotion challenging side, and you've done it in the first month of the campaign.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 who says if will be a sh*t atmosphere? Aslong as us L1/K1 lads do our bit we could get everybody rocking no matter what the result and performance we need to get behind the lads and ignore spculation of NPs future Exactly, who needs the part timers in the "Kop" and the west stand anyway.
Guest MattP Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Or when you've already lost half of the games that you will lose across the whole season for a promotion challenging side, and you've done it in the first month of the campaign. Reading and Southampton lost 10 and 11 out of 46 last year, we have lost 3. Swansea went up losing 14 from 46.
marty78 Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Reading and Southampton lost 10 and 11 out of 46 last year, we have lost 3. Swansea went up losing 14 from 46. Yep, it is more about how many you win. We could go unbeaten for the rest of the season but if they were all draws we would finish with 47 points and perhaps get relegated. We could lose 15 games over the season but winning the other 31 would give us 93 points and possibly the league title. Obviously they are two ridiculous extremes used to illustrate the point that losing more than 10 games doesn't mean we can't make the top six, not winning enough would be worse.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Wins are the key. Draws and losses are no good. We MUST get together a run of consecutive WINS to stand any chance. Blackburn, for example, have now won 3/4 on the bounce? That's what we need to do, starting this evening.
