Nationwider Posted 17 July 2005 Share Posted 17 July 2005 Four days to go, and I'm really excited! Probable England team: Trescothick, Strauss, Bell, Vaughan©, Pieterson, Flintoff, Jones.G(wk), Giles, Jones.S, Harmison, Hoggard Probable Aus team: Hayden, Langer, Ponting©, Martyn, Clarke, Katich, Gilchrist(wk), Warne, Lee, McGrath, Gillespie (or Kasprowicz) On paper, Aus have too much for us, but if Eng play to 100% capacity, it will be mighty close. Hitesh Posted 17 July 2005 Share Posted 17 July 2005 ITs going to be tough. I would say the Aussies are too strong in test matches still. But saying that, if England can get off to a winning start and not get too carried away there is no reason why they cant win. But whoever wins, its going to be a cracking series with some top quality cricket!

Sparky Posted 17 July 2005 Share Posted 17 July 2005 how harmison bowls is key for englands chances but i think its to close to call , 2 wins each and 1 draw!
john_lcfc Posted 17 July 2005 Share Posted 17 July 2005 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/shared/fds/hi...l/scorecard.stm they struggled a bit against leicestershire so god knows what will happen when they play england it will be easy easy
Hitesh Posted 17 July 2005 Share Posted 17 July 2005 I dont think you can take anything from that game. The leicestershire bowlers havent been great recently and so thats why Aussies got a high score. And i dont think that thei bowlers were givin it their all as they are probably saving themselves for Thursday!

Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 18 July 2005 Share Posted 18 July 2005 well Rogers scored 209 or something against australia so he must be good!
BartonFox Posted 18 July 2005 Share Posted 18 July 2005 Flintoff to be the batting failure of the summer, closely followed by the new hope Pieterson McGrath and Lee will own Trescothick all summer long Hayden, Ponting, Martyn and Gilchrist will make hay off England's bowlers except perhaps, Harmison. Mind you I have tickets for the First Test so I hope England don't cock it up.

Jonbluefox9 Posted 18 July 2005 Share Posted 18 July 2005 Rogers was brilliant on Sunday and was doing well this evening until the silly run out. I think he would've got at least 50 today if he hadn't been caught out of his ground.
Knighton Matt Posted 21 July 2005 Share Posted 21 July 2005 What a start! Harmison looks like he's on a mission to injure the whole Aussie team!

Benji Posted 21 July 2005 Share Posted 21 July 2005 yup, would you get them to go for runs or stay in? it seems we started by just staying at the wicket..... time to change tactics and get runs on the board?
