No it's called living a lot of years and seeing the changes. Politicians get the country in trouble and blame the people including YOU for the mess they cause. I sort my own problems out. I'm not the only one that has little confidence in politicians.

Can't say I've ever felt as though I've been personally blamed for government mistakes. I also accept that they do make mistakes. If you're capable of getting everything right every time, then I would certainly vote for you. But you're not, so we're stuck with what we've got.

As for sorting your own problems out, is that with or without tax payer money being siphoned off in your direction? I would have thought you of all people would be grateful to the politicians since they are the ones who make sure you have a roof over your head and food on your table.

Or do you blame your lack of employability on politicians? Is it their fault you never learned to drive?

I paid tax and NI for 45 years. I am taking my own money out. I see no point replying to the rest of your post

Suffice to say you may be in the minority that love politicians and Daggers.

Mr Wolf, I will NEVER vote for independence. It is doubtful that Scotland will vote for it.

I posted about why I wouldn't, previously in another thread. If you will excuse the repetition:

Sorry for the threadjack...

I feel exactly the same about Irish unity. It would be a terrible thing for NI.

I vote Greens because all the other parties over here are a fvcking joke.

P.S FTP is for fvcking retards. STV is the way forward.

Mr Freud writes : "I think you meant FPTP (First past the post) rather than FTP (Fvck the Pope)"

(I admit - I may have spent too much time travelling through villages with the kerbs painted red whitre and blue...)

:D

I agree with your point about STV, by the way.

You shouldn't call politicians MooseBunk will say you have a chip on your shoulder.

I'm nothing like he portrays me. What has put me off politicians over the last few years is many things. The Iraq war, Lib Dems sell out, racists in the fringe parties tax fiddles lies, turnarounds just to name a few things. Not a lot to choose from.

We haven't tried the Greens yet.

Maybe it's because I'm older but the politicians seem to be getting more corrupt. You don't notice when you have your own ideals for Utopia when younger.

I am satisfied with my life atm but it is because of what I'm doing not because what I am given by the state. I am not a moneygrabber and do not begrudge those in need being helped.

It is when there are some who move money abroad to avoid paying taxes thus costing the treasuary millions then it is recouped by hitting the wors off and lower paid that I find morally wrong.

I do not know how anyone can defend these tax cheats as someone does on here.

You cannot have one law for one and another law for others.

Does anyone disagree with that and fairness all round?

To be fair to Moose, you and millions of others will take out tens of thousands more than they ever put in. It is called wealth distribution, and like it or not it is supported by politicians of all parties.

Some sense finally.

I'll vote for whoever gives the best deal to the true working classes - i.e. hard workers of any salary bracket who go out to work everyday, pay tax through the nose, and see little or nothing in way of anything back in terms of tax payer value. For the tax money I do pay, I want to see it used so much more efficiently than it currently is.

For me the high level equation is simple; we need a stronger private sector to generate growth and create jobs, we need to lower our countries outgoings to help balance the books, and have a more flexible/reactive public sector which will be an asset when we can afford it, and not a burden when we can't. Not rocket science this and I'm sure that most of the parties support this - except for labour, for whom it doesn't align with their vote winning agenda.

Where I live it just doesn't matter.

Such is the problem with the FPTP system.

Why thank you Mr vacamion I totally concur with all your points on the subject. We are stronger together and have fought side by side in two world wars under the banner of the British Army with Scotland producing some of the finest regiments in history.

Like you I fully expect the majority of Scots to see through this charade of independence and stick with us, after all they know where their bread is buttered.
