Zingari Posted 27 December 2012 Posted 27 December 2012 Other than that , it does sound a very romantic walk though and I'd suggest a little detour through the old coal wharf or along the tracks to glenfield tunnel maybe taking in the sights of the old tip . edit ; if you walk up Hospital lane to where the rally tracks cross , there is an old gate post and you could point out where i first had a go on a girls tits

Saxondale Posted 27 December 2012 Posted 27 December 2012 For a decent bar for a quiet drink try Cafe Bruxelles on High Street My favourite.
accessory Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 A decent not too expensive lunch time bite: Sandwich shops in Horsefair Street/Noodle bar, Gallowtree Gate A decent evening meal: Anywhere on London Road between the station and Vicky Park. La Tosca Italiana is especially recommended. Expensive restaurant, really splashing out and making a fuss of someone: Choose between San Carlo's Granby Street (SGE apparently used to eat there a lot) or Mem Saab in Highcross. . A relaxed late bar to have a few drinks: The Globe or The High Cross. A nice Coffee shop sort of place: Crumbling Cookie, High Street. Interesting unusual pubs/bars with a bit of character: Swan & Rushes, Criterion, Ale Wagon or Salmon. Shakespeare's Head (near Holiday Inn/underpass) sells the cheapest beer you'll find outside the 'Spoons pubs. Any decent independent little shops that you don't really see anywhere else: Check out the arcades off Silver Street and the Rockaboom record shop in St Martins. Any interesting sights or places to visit: Curve, Phoenix, New Walk Museum, Highcross, the Market. The Visit Leicester Shop at the entrance to the Market will be happy to offer further suggestions
Trav Le Bleu Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 All the above were lovely places until one of our previous mayors trashed the city.
