Mack Posted 2 January 2013 Posted 2 January 2013 This is a tough watch and shows what a decent genuine guy he is. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20884275
Guest kristianity77 Posted 2 January 2013 Posted 2 January 2013 Horrible club Plymouth is. I remember when they sacked Peter Reid a few years back after he had sold some of his personal medals and stuff just to help keep them afloat.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 2 January 2013 Posted 2 January 2013 Horrible club Plymouth is. I remember when they sacked Peter Reid a few years back after he had sold some of his personal medals and stuff just to help keep them afloat. I'd say more desperate than horrible. The way they treated Peter Reid was a disgrace, but how many clubs go through these kind of motions faced with relegation to a level they can't abide? Plymouth's motivation is staying in the Football League at all costs, or face being the next Darlington, so they're going to make some harsh and questionable decisions to meet that end.
Vacamion Posted 2 January 2013 Posted 2 January 2013 I recall a time when they were in the 2nd tier, looking to get top flight football. I've mentioned on FT before that I was once in pub in Truro showing a match and a local referred to Man Utd as 'us'. While such attitudes persist, the South West will never be a footballing hotbed and the likes of Plymouth will always struggle. Sad.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 3 January 2013 Posted 3 January 2013 The club means a lot to people down here, even though they've had such a drastic fall and such a harsh time of it lately. I'd be extremely sad to see them go under and as others have said, they need to do whatever they can to ensure survival, unfortunately that means things like this.
Fox92 Posted 3 January 2013 Posted 3 January 2013 Hope he does continue. It is a very difficult first job for anybody.

I remember going to Wembley with Plymouth for the what is League two play-off final and they took 35k so the potential is there. Plymouth got their hands burnt like some many clubs with off field issues. Not sure they fully recovered from Holloway going (I dare say you guys wished he hadn't either!)
