whoareyaaa Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 With the snow expected to hit us hard on Monday can we expect another meltdown with the travel services? or have they managed to use some logical sense to make sure everything keeps on moving? the reason im asking is because im planning a trip on Monday and I can't afford to not be there.

Don't know what forecast you've seen but I don't think it's going to be any more than a dusting. So I'd recommend a travel lodge Sunday night knowing the local authorities!

Well it looks set to be 5-10cms all over and we know what happened last time we had this amount. which in fact is very little but its very likely to be more than a dusting. Thats what im thinking heading there a day early although this will cost me a few hundread extra as everything is booked.

As I am retired I'm going to spend all day Monday in my garden making snow Angels and laughing at the people at the bus stops waiting for a bus that won't turn up.
Father Ted Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 I have my first exam on Monday and travel from Leicester to Loughborough every day by train... Could be interesting. If worst comes to worst ill have to get the quad bike out!

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 Bloody hope there's no major snow, I sold my car a few ago to fund my house purchase and only have a bike (which hates starting up in cold weather). Riding on cold roads is one thing, but having to choose between visor down (and it steaming up) or visor up (cold face and having to squint to see) isn't a fun dilemma to have. Balls.
