excellent. I'll definitely try there.

What do people think is the best approach?

Phoning or Emailing the employer before going there or just turning up on the off chance?

Look clean and smart, knock on the door with a CV and letter to leave for them if they can't see you.

Probably go in. You never know they may be in urgent need. I was jobless for about 3 months, got told about a job going, went in to ask about it and started the next day.

This also!

But if you get fobbed off by one of the counter lads at Pochins, although they may be telling the truth, leave your CV with their boss or whatever then go home and ring up lol

Couldn't you rent a cheap studio in Derby if the job is worth it?

Erm I suppose. Not very ideal but.....

Maybe pm the fella, see what the job is then decide if the pay and job is worth moving to Derby for, and whether they would help with relocation, not sure of your situation, but it may be the perfect job with great pay, potential for promotion and gaining lots of experience.

Don't dismiss moving before you rule out the job, I've moved loads of times because of work 4 times in the last 18 months.

I do have a situation at the moment that would make it nearly impossible to move away. thanks for the advice though and I do agree with you

Where in leicester you live? Counterbalance in date? What experience do you have etc?

braunstone area. Yeah counterbalance is valid. I've worked in retail, which also involved some warehouse work, I've worked in a plastics production company (cutting and using CBC mschines) and the job that has just ended was data inputting.

I also have a few years experience of bar work and waiting on tables

Ok mate.

What company did you get your flt exp at and is it a in house license? Can you get to Desford ?

I was working at Oadby plastics when I got my license. I have a card so I assume its valid. The company that trained me are called Keith cook training ltd.

Yeah I think Desford is fairly easy to get to from mine, should be on a bus route
