The Infamous 1-0 at home

Recommended Posts

This score line hasn't just been familiar to us this year at the at home. It's been a curse since we moved from Filbert Street.

Time after time after time I have walked away from that ground knowing we should have won the game. Yet for no apparent reason we have had 20+ shots at goal, the opposition has had 1 or 2 and its ended 0-1.

You can say all you want about teams shutting up shop and going for a break but there comes a point when you start to think its a curse.

Since 2003 we've had so many different teams, managers and tactics yet this scoreline seems to be so familiar with that ground. :(

Agree. Teams know how to come here and set up for a 1-0 smash and grab. The list of poor champ teams we should've beat but end up losing 1-0 to is unreal.

Rotherham

Watford

Crewe ?

Brighton ?

Burnley x 3!!!

Leeds

Forest

Southampton ?

It's older than the original founders of our beloved game but the old adage is that if you can' t put ball in the back of the net then you're obviously either going to lose or at best only draw games - and ultimately not be successful! Yes, 20 shots on goal with none scored compared to the opposition's one goal with their two shots on target all game is an overwhelming ratio itself and indeed does raise serious questions about our strikeforce et al on the pitch but that's football, it happens - especially when you're on a run of one win in nine! It seeems harsh when all's told but - that's football !
