Captain... Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Anyone got one? Are they cheap and cheerful or a bag o shite? My girlfriend has just been talked into getting one with 3 when she tried to move over to giffgaff. They offered her £7 a month for: 300 free minutes any network 2.5gb of data 300 texts 3000 minutes to three phones +phone But the phone is the Alcatel one touch 903 and the contract is 24 months. Never even heard of Alcatel, looked on amazon and they retail at £75 but no reviews, they use gingerbread on Android, and look tacky, but if it works great, she is not really into her apps, only really Skype. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alcatel-Touch-black-sim-free-unbranded/dp/B0090LYHVS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1364989376&sr=8-2 So has she made a good deal or should I tell her to cancel it and move to Giffgaff
AaronH Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Its a good deal but 3's coverage is dodgy, I wouldn't go near a Alcatel we always get them back as faulty ( I work in o2)
Webbo Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 My 15 year old daughter got 1 for her birthday about a fortnight ago. So far so good but we're not really tech savvy so we're not really the best judges.

Reading into them they seem to be a good cheap beginner smart phone, if you have never had a smart phone before they will be good, but are much slower and less powerful than a top range iphone or Samsung. She phoned them back and cancelled, she spent a further 45 minutes trying to cancel her existing contract and get her pac code so she can move to giffgaff, just really aggressive relentless selling from 3.
Libertine Dream Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 There's better entry level smartphones out there from better brands on better networks

Ashley Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Its a good deal but 3's coverage is dodgy, I wouldn't go near a Alcatel we always get them back as faulty ( I work in o2) 3 coverage dodgy? SAY WHAT. I've been on every network and 3 are the best hands down. I always have full 3G. I have to say no offence but 02 have been the worst.

I have to say no offence but 02 have been the worst. Me and a lad at work are just actually talking about this now. I've been with most network over the years and like you said 3 is the best either of us have been. I know a lot of people who have moved to 3 and they all say the same. Worst network I've been on is Vodafone and their customer service is bloody terrible.
