Katy Posted 27 July 2005 Posted 27 July 2005 This time at Grantham Station (how near?) Two men were on the way to Kings Cross apparently and some people got suspicious and raised the alarm and they were arrested at Grantham, Im supposed to be at that station later! More people were arrested in Birmingham as well. Source

Guest Posted 27 July 2005 Posted 27 July 2005 Incidents like this will be regular from now on, I suspect. We're entering an age of suspicion, I'm afraid.
Ric Flair Posted 27 July 2005 Posted 27 July 2005 Leicester station was evacuated last night, not good.

Solihullfox Posted 27 July 2005 Posted 27 July 2005 The guy arrested in Birmingham has been identified as one of the bombers. Must say that I have never seen so many police in Brum and specifically around Smallheath, Sparkbrook etc. over the last few days, couldn't believe it when they weren't nicking speeding drivers.
Thracian Posted 27 July 2005 Posted 27 July 2005 Leicester station was evacuated last night, not good. 145052 Why would they blast Leicester station and wreck one of their main routes into "work"?. Not only that, it'd be like bombing their own backyard. Just think of the old LMS system cities like Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester and Luton, all bastions of Islamic society. I'd imagine every single Al Queda cell member based in the UK has passed through at least some of those stations ( Now there's an interesting thought for security) and I don't think they'd prefer National Express...takes too long.

Have they shut the port doors yet?
Katy Posted 27 July 2005 Author Posted 27 July 2005 By I time I got to the station (literally 7 miles from my house) all that was there was a Central News van and some journalists. The staff were being extra vigilant checking tickets before you go onto the platform etc. Sadly this is the shape of things to come for a far while
Babylon Posted 27 July 2005 Posted 27 July 2005 The staff were being extra vigilant checking tickets before you go onto the platform etc.145255 We had best hope Osamas boys don't buy tickets then or we are fecked.

lush Posted 27 July 2005 Posted 27 July 2005 Leicester station was evacuated last night, not good. 145052 They just hate us if we can get a £15 return ticket

lush Posted 27 July 2005 Posted 27 July 2005 Sadly this is the shape of things to come for a far while 145255 So we just go about our lives in fear Sod that, im growing eyes in the back of me head
toonboy Posted 27 July 2005 Posted 27 July 2005 I came in to East Midlands from Spain today and there was no security. I know there is no specific threat at East Midlands but i just expected there to be something with everything that has been going on in the past week. Apparently they tasered him when they arrested him. I think that is a good idea so they don't have to go around shooting people in the head. There are pictures of a bomb found at Luton on BBC which is a bit scary.
