Fox92 Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 No sympathy from me, but at least he admits he was 'stupid'.
RobHawk Posted 7 June 2013 Author Posted 7 June 2013 No sympathy from me, but at least he admits he was 'stupid'. I wouldn't say i sympatheze with him and like you say he comes across as honest and quite tidy for a footballer. I do wonder if regulations like this are really discussed with players though. His thought process of as long as the game doesn't concern his teams doesn't seem unrealistic. I think Gambling overall needs to be addressed more with professional footballers anyway, they do get bored and they have money, nothing wrong with gambling now and again but it has to be controlled and within limits!
ScouseFox Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 Even I knew you aren't allowed to bet on any tournament involving your club(s). Just common sense really. He seems like a bit of a disabled.
RowlattsFox Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 How do people find out who he's bet on? Do they have spotters or something? Sure he knew the rules but just thought he'd get away with it.

Ive never bet before but don't you have to put the name which appears on your card when you put in your card details? Or is it different for betting.
Guest MattP Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 What a load of bollocks. Sporting chance? He's not an addict he's placed a few bets in a hotel room. Rules are ridiculous anyway. Should be allowed tobet on anything you aren't playing in.

Some even give you the option to state your occupation if you feel necessary, for statistical reasons or something. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he was a big enough idiot to write "PREM FOOTY PLAYER LAD" in that particular box.
ADK Posted 8 June 2013 Posted 8 June 2013 It's not really much of a story, if anything his punishment in unwarranted.
