flowwolf Posted 8 June 2013 Posted 8 June 2013 Sorry, I was talking about the shifting arguments, based around judgmental ideas of an individual based upon stereotyped assumptions, being 'exceptionally good stuff'. It really does suit this feed very well. I am sorry for my lack of clarity - I was just a little excited I am always very happy to be educated as to what is intelligent poetry; my socks are waiting to be blown off! Oh no you don't ! That is half the fun finding out the best poetry .All I can say is read what this left wing numpty has done and any other poetry will be a bonus. The irony is that she uses just about every stereo type in the book. Lurching from one stereo type accent to another, it's a dead give away. I was half expecting her to launch in to patois . Is it any wonder she gets laughed at on here ?
Rincewind Posted 8 June 2013 Posted 8 June 2013 It appears that you have judged the content of her poetry as 'left wing' so every stereo type for a 'leftie' must follow regardless of the content or message that she is putting across. Just an observation. No offence intended.
Renart Posted 9 June 2013 Author Posted 9 June 2013 This is an open forum and can be accessed by anyone and so I sent Hollie the link (via the e-mail on her website) to this thread as I thought she might be interested and this is her response: from Hollie McNish: Wow - that was amazing! And despite all the insults, nice to see it all!! Can you respond from me on there? If you can: Quick post to say it was interesting reading all your posts on me, my life history (guessed) and poetry (or not). And thanks if you watched the video and sorry if it was a waste of your 2 mins. Just wanted to answer your arguing cos it was slightly grating me. I'm 30 years old. Am from Reading, accents not fake (but I realise it's a bit annoying - my mum says the same). Family entirely from Glasgow and my accent annoys them too - I used to have a Scottish accent but that went. I went to a state school and worked my arse off to get to Cambridge University where a lot of posher students also took the piss out of my accent. And fact I didn't go to private school. My dad did help me pay for fees and I also worked two jobs at school and had student loan at Uni and jobs in Summer (Cambridge doesn't let you work except in their bar - which I did). I worked in bars and shops for a year after that and saved up to pay myself through a part time Masters degree whilst working, specialising in the economics of immigration cos I've always found it something that politicians spout about and I wanted to know if they were talking shite. I think they do talk shit after studying it. I've always written rhymes and people keep asking me to read them now. I don't force them on people and don't say 'I'm a poet' cos I know there are amazing poets out there. But some people like it. Some don't. But thanks for talking about it all the same. You probably couldn't care less about any of this but hey. I also used to coach football to kids and can do 50 keepyuppys on my knees but none with my feet. Cheers to whoever posted the poem. x
Renart Posted 9 June 2013 Author Posted 9 June 2013 Now that is what I call an post for some. Is this a 'fill in the blank' game? I am going to go with awkward.
Rincewind Posted 9 June 2013 Posted 9 June 2013 I was going to post an 'EGG on face' image but not being allowed to. Best I can do is
MooseBreath Posted 9 June 2013 Posted 9 June 2013 Wouldn't mind giving her a different kind of sticky protein face mask

Oh by the way the word is " two " not 2.

Oh by the way the word is " two " not 2. Yeah, God forbid anyone write informally. You're really clutching at straws here if that's the best you can come up with. I can go through the mistakes in your posts if you wish.
Renart Posted 9 June 2013 Author Posted 9 June 2013 I am now following her. Twitter? or are you following her right now (that is called stalking and can get you into trouble)?
MooseBreath Posted 9 June 2013 Posted 9 June 2013 Bet she's jumping for joy to know that a fellow artist appreciates her work.
MooseBreath Posted 9 June 2013 Posted 9 June 2013 Those that can do those that can't criticise. You got a full time job yet?
Rincewind Posted 9 June 2013 Posted 9 June 2013 So I became a writerand dream my time awayI can be who or where I wantwhilst staying in bed all day.
flowwolf Posted 9 June 2013 Posted 9 June 2013 Yeah, God forbid anyone write informally. You're really clutching at straws here if that's the best you can come up with. flowwolf Posted 9 June 2013 Posted 9 June 2013 So I became a writer and dream my time away I can be who or where I want whilst staying in bed all day. And when the bills come through my door asking for the rent I can do a moonlight flit and live in a cardboard tent.
Guest Bilo Posted 9 June 2013 Posted 9 June 2013 Then again I'm not bragging about going to Cambridge or posting socialist twaddle dressed up a poetry. Because criticising ignorant, racist cvnts is clearly only done by hard-line socialists.
Rincewind Posted 9 June 2013 Posted 9 June 2013 I think she made some good observational points looking at it from a neutral angle.
