Season tickets up, Match Day tickets down?

Given that we have sold more season tickets for this season than for quite a long time and the then disappointing home attendance yesterday I was wondering if anyone else agreed that most fans now acknowledge the only real value in watching the Foxes is with a season ticket?

The difference in price between buying week by week and for the whole season is significant, leading to those who can commit going the hole hog and the rest opting to pick and choose and wait for the club to offer discounted seats?

Usually first home game of the season attendances are high out of curiosity and enthusiasm given a summer to forget the woes of the previous campaign, maybe a lack of exiting new signings has left the fringe fans without anything to turn up for?

I've got a feeling our average gates will be lower for a while, and that will only change if we go on a significant run of positive results.

Well the areas of the ground that are the fullest are the cheapest, you'd think the owners would realise that the cheaper the tickets more fans would turn up.

But regardless of how much tickets cost fans will still turn up.

FPP means that more than ever the owners need to maximise revenue not fill the stadium, i think i read somewhere that most events maximise profit at about 70% capacity.

there must be a computer programme or eqauation whereby teh club can measure the effect of pricing on attendance and the maximisation of profits. Airlinbes can do this easily with fluid pricing in accordance with demand. The problem is that us STH will be pissed off if prices are lowered to encourage more fans to attend when sales are low. Having said that they could always offer a cash back at the emnd of theh season to account for this. The spin off revenue of club shop sales, programmes, and food and beverage also has to be taken into acount. The final part is that more fans means better home support which acts as a motivational inspiration to the players and actually helps attract new signings.
