VLC86 Posted 16 October 2013 Posted 16 October 2013 My mums boiler has broke and I wanted to know if anyone can recommend a good reliable company to fix it. We have had a company out that upped its price by 25% overnight which is pretty poor!
lavrentis Posted 16 October 2013 Posted 16 October 2013 Ignite Gas Services are quite good. 0116 359 3100 Operate around Leicester/Coalville area
Alf Bentley Posted 16 October 2013 Posted 16 October 2013 We've used JD Plumbing & Heating (Jovan Dvokic, 1-man operation operating out of South Leicester) for a number of years and he's proved very reliable. He replaced a part a few weeks back and said it would be "£50-£60" beforehand, which I agreed. When he'd done the work and I asked how much, he said "£50". He even condemned our gas fires as unsafe a couple of years back, due to burned off fumes escaping through brickwork, whereas another plumber had approved them (his decision was confirmed by a third party). 07966 189204 (might need to leave a message and await a call back)
Jon the Hat Posted 16 October 2013 Posted 16 October 2013 Only if you are in Surrey. What ever you do, don't ring British Gas. Checkatrade is worth a shot if you dont get any joy with recommendations.
Ross-Kemp Posted 16 October 2013 Posted 16 October 2013 Depending on her circumstances, she can ring her energy company and enquire about ECO, she may be able to get a free replacement.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 16 October 2013 Posted 16 October 2013 What ever you do, don't ring British Gas. A colleague of mine was sold a boiler by them that when it came to fitting was too big for the cupboard it was to be installed in. How everyone laughed
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 October 2013 Posted 16 October 2013 Many years ago I lived in a council house, and new boilers were fitted in the largest kitchen cupboard. A few months later the council knocked the cupboards out, and had to take out the boilers, and fit them elsewhere. False economy gas?
VLC86 Posted 16 October 2013 Author Posted 16 October 2013 Thanks for the replies. Certainly not going with BG that's for sure. Il give the other 2 a bell cheers!
