Boiler Repairs/Replacements

Recommended Posts

My mums boiler has broke and I wanted to know if anyone can recommend a good reliable company to fix it.

We have had a company out that upped its price by 25% overnight which is pretty poor!

We've used JD Plumbing & Heating (Jovan Dvokic, 1-man operation operating out of South Leicester) for a number of years and he's proved very reliable. He replaced a part a few weeks back and said it would be "£50-£60" beforehand, which I agreed. When he'd done the work and I asked how much, he said "£50". He even condemned our gas fires as unsafe a couple of years back, due to burned off fumes escaping through brickwork, whereas another plumber had approved them (his decision was confirmed by a third party).

Depending on her circumstances, she can ring her energy company and enquire about ECO, she may be able to get a free replacement.

How great!  Mine cost £2400, but if you are on benefits, get a free one!

What ever you do, don't ring British Gas.

A colleague of mine was sold a boiler by them that when it came to fitting was too big for the cupboard it was to be installed in.

How everyone laughed

Many years ago I lived in a council house, and new boilers were fitted in the largest kitchen cupboard. A few months later the council knocked the cupboards out, and had to take out the boilers, and fit them elsewhere. False economy gas?
