Guest MattP Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Whenever he has started upfront in a 4-4-2 (the loan season and for a spell last year) he has been one of our better players. He's doing a good job at Millwall by all accounts. And he's still only 23. We absolutely should be offering him a new contract. Although given the way we've misused him, failed to give him opportunities in his preferred position and generally shat on a promising young player, he'd have to be stupid to sign one. If we are in this division, lose Nugent, we are struggling due to FFP I could see an argument for offering him something on reduced terms. Any other scenario and he can fade away into the lower championship/league one like so many others who have passed through this club over the years.
Bettsj2 Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 We lost on Tuesday. Why would we give him a new contract?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 Yes because he's going to tell the press that he's worried about it and wish the owners would do something.
Finn Claw II Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 With a list that long FFP is in our hands. It won't come to that because we are going up!! I'm hoping we can spend funds more wisely than on a bumper new contract for Konchesky.
sylofox Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 is that not just a list of players out of contract. Danns won't get offered a new one who says waghorn will. Looking at the player list 5 for def won't be talked too and let walk. BIG slice off our wage bill. Just a shame it was not last summer.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 5 December 2013 Posted 5 December 2013 We lost on Tuesday. Why would we give him a new contract? You win sir...
