ScouseFox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Vardy is fúcking boss. When he ran 90 yards and got away from Ward at the start of the game and he didn't even look like he was trying. Ward looked like someone had just shot him at about the half way line. Vardy, Nugent, Dyer & Tony K is an unreal attacking 4. Knockaert was 'quiet' (for him) last night and we still tore Derby to shreds. When you have a 4 that good, all it takes is for 2 or 3 to play well and we won't lose. Simple.
Voll Blau Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Vardy's won been awarded six penalties this season. I'd love to know the record for an individual player. Corrected. Vardy was obviously never going to be an overnight sensation given the fact he was skipping over two divisions to join us. The fact he's come good is credit to his hard work and Pearson's faith in his scouting network.
ScouseFox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I'd say he has 'won' penalties just by being so good. Deceptively quick if anything. People see that dodgy 5 yard first touch and think "oh i'll have some of that ball, thanks", yet 0.5 seconds later Vardy pokes it past them and before they realise they've hacked him down for the most obvious penalty since the last one he won.
justfoxes Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Wow hopefully that comment about Nugent is a joke, otherwise what game did you watch tonight?!! Vardy has been sensational though Nuge's pass for de Laets goal was sublime and his work rate over all was superb we are looking every bit a quality side and this display the other front runners we are here to stay in top spot!! Well done lads superb game full of emotion keep it up BLUE ARMY !!

I've been saying this for a while now but it's even more applicable now Vards and Nuge are playing well. I really think that having two wide players of the quality of Knocky and Dyer can cause a team problems before the game's even kicked off. They're both going to warrant attention and opposition managers know that if either are given space they can hurt you. This is going to be affecting their entire game plan and formation and now that we have a front four hitting form it's even worse for them. Very exciting.

Sky pointed out quite rightly, that not many teams go 4-4-2 anymore. We do, and with everyone else 4-3-3 with attacking wingers, we often end up our attacking 4 against their defensive 4. There's only ever gonna be one winner with the pace of Lloyd, skill of Knocky and just boss ness of the front 2.
Chazwaz Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Vardz got PASHUN And he can play good football, which is always handy
Leicester_lad_92 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Fair enough all have our opinions but I think some people are way too harsh on David nugent, yes he has scored a lot of penalties - which u still have to put away btw, but his overall play this year has been quality if u look at it properly, he has a fair amount if assists and is playing a lot deeper this year to help the side!! Take him out & I guarantee we wouldn't be the same side upfront, the link up play with Vardy last night was top notch!!

When you get as many penalties as we do opposition Goalkeepers can start figuring out preferences, which makes scoring pens harder. More to the point, he's part of a team that's working so we as a unit, and even if sometimes his contribution isn't fantastic, there are plenty of games where his ability is the key difference.
