MC Prussian Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Brazil... the lucky gits. Anyway, it was a more than successful Fantasy WC for my beloved Canucks. Highs and lows, ups and downs - all included in the fantastic ten games we were able to compete in. We've done the nation some proud and we've put Canada on the Football Map. Yes, we might even drop the "soccer" in honour of our latest feats! A la prochaine!

Both sides have had different journeys to where they are today.Spain have been pretty much unbeatable throughout the tournament so far, they were clear Group winners and have coasted into today's Semi Final match. However they were tested to the fullest in the Quarter Finals by Wales and I am sure Ivory Coast will have taken note on how to approach today's game. The group stages also proved a walk in the park for the African side, they notched up an impressive 5 wins but they needed a last ditch strike from Salomon Kalou against France to secure their position in today's match. It's fair to say that both sides will throw an air of caution because with away goals in play, you can't really afford too many mistakes. We take a look at the team news now and it will be an interesting clash, particularly in the midfield areas.Venue: Camp Nou Location: Barcelona, Spain------------------------------------------------------------------------------Semi Finals - 1st LegRESULTAndy Kings CJ's - Spain 4-0 Ivory Coast - HEGGSY-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Pedro '12Pique '72Negredo '77 '90+1BambaCarvajalTeam News *Refresh your browser to see updates as they are posted*- Both teams make there way onto this magnificent pitch here at the Camp Nou, you can feel the buzz of anticipation throughout as the players enter this caldron of noise and color. The national anthems shall now be played and the time for talk is almost over.0 - Spain will get this one underway, kicking from left to right.2nd - Spain look to break through early but Negredo goes too early and is caught offside.4th - Good strength and pace from Angoua allows him to break down the flank, however the cross is caught before Drogba can arrive to meet the ball.6th - Good chance for Spain, Negredo manages to cut inside and dinks the ball to the back post.
