Forest vs Preston

It's Forest balls to them, they reduced the ticket allocation to us last season to get an "advantage" , so we should return the favour by playing on a Tuesday night.

I've gotta say I'm confused by all these confident shouts it'll be on the Wednesday.

Forest knew they had a 1 in 4 chance of playing at Bramall Lane on the Sunday when they agreed to playing us on the Tuesday.

My stab in the dark is that we'd have been happy to leave it until after last night's result, because we know we only needed a couple of days to sell our allocation. Forest, on the other hand, have got twenty odd thousand tickets to sell - and would have wanted more time to do so. That's just my guess, no basis to it.

Either way it makes no sense for people to be so confident it's gonna get moved.

Like I said earlier Forest have 3 matches before they play us, all away on heavy pitches (Blackpool, Huddersfield, Sheff United). If they play us on the Tuesday, this will only give them 48 hours rest. Added to this they've just played 3 games in 7 days (Watford, Yoevil and Preston) I'm hoping that after a 10 day rest after the Watford game on Saturday we could turn them over at the City Ground.

Because it was probably agreed on the basis they would be playing on the Saturday against Fulham. If the clubs cannot agree it may get arranged for a different week unless the cup match is moved to the Friday which is very unlikely.

Sorry got to disagree with that. Why would they agree it on that basis? United have knocked out a Prem side already and were the better team at Bramall Lane in the first match. Not to mention Fulham have been piss poor all year.

Even if that wasn't the case the clubs didn't need to come out and state a date before yesterday so why would they do so unless they were confident of it happening then? Tens of thousands of pounds rests on when a matchday takes place - they surely wouldn't publicise a revised date unnecessarily unless they were confident of it taking place at that date (and hence it let them commence ticket sales earlier.)

We should definitely do this. I like it.

If they want to move it we should refuse and we have every right to. Would be absolute karma for everything they've done in restricting other teams this season (ie. reduced allocation when they can't sell out themselves) and also in banning/restricting the media. The circus has come to town so let's play their own game right back at them and play hardball with respect to this fixture.
