-blue- Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 It will be my first visit next week so any useful tips on where to have a pint, park etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Fox92 Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 Best of heading to the leisure complex. There's around three or four car parks around there, including the complex itself, and is literally a 5 minute walk to the ground (not even that, it's just down a hill). Everybody usually drinks in there as well, each time I've been (and I've been to Barnsley five times now), it gets full.
Bert Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 You can park on the hill right outside the ground. Very handy as long as you're prepared to wait that little bit longer to get away from the ground although it isn't that bad for getting away from it.
-blue- Posted 5 March 2014 Author Posted 5 March 2014 New to the forum so didn't realise there's a separate section where away games are discussed, but thanks for replying anyway gents. And I won't be drinking until I get home, when I will open a cold budweiser and celebrate another fantastic city win!
Dan0305 Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 Went to the wetherspoons pub in the centre last year. Welcomed city fans in there, and there were quite a few in there aswell. About 15 min walk to the ground from there.

kylestyle06 Posted 7 March 2014 Posted 7 March 2014 Last time I went to Barnsley and parked in the ground car park we wasn't allowed to walk into the town as the police made us stay in the ground, so it ruined the day..

andog Posted 7 March 2014 Posted 7 March 2014 It will be my first visit next week so any useful tips on where to have a pint, park etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Definitely the Metrodome centre which is literally a stone throw from the away end (like others have mentioned). Leicester fans always take over the sports bar in there, and I'm there next Tuesday as per every Barnsley away visit.
-blue- Posted 8 March 2014 Author Posted 8 March 2014 Thanks gents, Looking forward to it even more after the great results today!
