Do you think our playing style - fast attacking, quick movement/feet football will see us start next season with a greater confidence than Cardiff & Palace?

 

We are winning games by 2-3 goals and out playing teams, particularly at home. Cardiff were often grinding out 1-0 wins last season.

 

A good start means everything. Yes teams will be better, but it is argued you get more time & space on the ball.

Our style of play will stick even some Premier League sides on the back foot. I don't buy for one second that teams like Norwich and Fulham are any better than us.

As long as we go into games with the same confdence and belief than we have this season. Similar to what Southampton and Swansea have done then I can see us having no trouble staying up.

We need to make sure we play to our strengths regardless of the opposition and take the game to them and play keep ball.

In theory, yes.

 

Its easier said than done though, keeping that confidence to play attacking football, and not start to sink back towards the 18 yard box is going to take some doing.

Confidence is oozing through the side now.

Important the fans play their part as well, if we are losing its far more likely we'll get an equaliser or see Mahrez prepared to try something like Saturday if we show patience and don't jump on every error.

Promoted teams will always take that confidence with them, no matter what league they're getting into. This is why I'd rather us play a side like Villa or Stoke at home on the opening day, instead of having to play Liverpool or Manchester City with the possibility of getting thumped and us losing that confidence straight off.

 

But remember when Southampton went to the Etihad on the opening day a couple of seasons ago, they only lost 3-2 and were infact winning at one point. Confidence is key, it goes hand in hand with morale and does lift ability.

Didn't really help Reading who I remember going up playing fast football on the front foot.

Their open free-flowing style just meant they shipped a load of goals.

 

Workrate & putting pressure on the ball is key, help prevent that world class pass to a world class player from being picked out... I'm not suggesting we should go all Stoke, but if we attack in overwhelming numbers as we do in this division, Prem teams could punish us.
