Bellend Sebastian Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Have we had this already? Apologies if we have, please delete if so. I didn't put the full title as although it's in the context of Manchester United fans I think it's relevant for supporters of all clubs. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26704856 I can understand that success is attractive to people but at the same time I've never really grasped why people would want it to be the default position of your club because surely the novelty of being successful wears off if there's a lot of it. If your club is winning its 15th piece of silverware in a decade, how exciting really is that? I've no idea, but if it's the first in decades I'll bet my socks that's much more exciting. I like the quote in the article 'You're paying to watch a formulaic movie, where you know what the outcome is going to be', which is basically used to explain why a certain section of the Man Utd support are struggling with their current situation. Personally, I don't think being a football fan should be anything like that. Your thoughts, me hearties
pSinatra Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Correct Where's the fun in winning every week? I prefer our rollercoaster. I was thinking a couple of weeks ago, the same thing. I think it was the Blackpool game. It was a bit of a pisser when they took the lead, but I was never in doubt of the eventual outcome. It was a bizarre feeling, I can't say I've ever really had before. In the 30+ years supporting City, I've never had it this comfortable & I'm finding it difficult to get my head round. There's been a couple of matches this year where my arse has been twitching right up until the very last kick of the game, but for the most part it's been a bit of a stroll in the park. Roll on next season when normality can be restored.
bovril Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Bloody hell these United and Liverpool fans don't know they're born. Bloody tossers.
Fox92 Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 And this is the thing with our season. We're closing on promotion for the first time since 2003 and it's fantastic. I said to my mate the other day 'I've waited 11 years for this'.
