C-man Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Well we need something! The majority of songs we sign arent our own anyway.. most of our own, the younger lads don't even know! so we end up with the same old... Which is why we need to work on what we have first before confusing them further with generic rubbish
Dan Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 The block has been totally guilty of a couple of rip-offs which I'm not really a fan of though I am hearing a couple of different ones recently. It baffles me in the social media age that we can't pass the songs down a generation.I learnt by going and listening, what it says about a lot of the current youngsters that they can't seem to read a song on the Internet and learn how to sing it I have no idea. There's quite a simple way of doing that. Just pose as a #LAD bible account on Twitter and post a video of you and your mates singing it claiming you're Man City fans. Then it'll be here in no time.
Soup Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 90 minutes is a long time to sing.We need to keep the old songs going,or get some new ones sorted fast.Saying that I'll sing anything, apart from that We are premier league chant, horrible.
1964FOX Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 The best song for me on Tuesday was WYS and the fact we sang it at a nice speed. Usually it's sung too fast but it started well and lasted through to the end at the right pace, well done SK1.
AndWhat? Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Yeah the slow WYS was quality, confused me at first though! not used to it!
1964FOX Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Possibly because there was a few of us old gits in there, we know how to do it or is it we're to old to do it fast.
AndWhat? Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Possibly because there was a few of us old gits in there, we know how to do it or is it we're to old to do it fast. So is the slow version the way it was properly sung back in the day?
1964FOX Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Yes it was always sung at a slower pace, I don't understand why songs seem just to get quicker and quicker nowadays even as they are actually sung. Take ring of fire it usually starts at a decent pace but seems to get quicker and quicker till it's too fast to sing and dies out.

Take ring of fire it usually starts at a decent pace but seems to get quicker and quicker till it's too fast to sing and dies out. I'm convinced it's a) because some people are embarrassed to be seen singing and want to get it over with or b) where there's clapping involved people just do the clapping without the words which means they do not keep pace properly and it gets quicker and quicker. I'd like Union FS to be able to put together a few videos of how songs should be sung. Perhaps get in the ground early one game, record and upload. I may have mentioned this before but I have a friend who supports Feyenoord. They did that with their main song a few years back, citing how much it had change in the past X years. It really made a difference and now have their traditional version back. It can be done.
AndWhat? Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Have you missed it being sung every game in SK1 this season? Personally hate everything to do with Celtic and hate the thought of becoming their tribute act. We have more than enough traditional songs to be getting on with whilst we come up with some great, unique to Leicester additions that we can do properly. Agree with this completely. I don't hate Celtic at all and would say I actually 'follow' them a bit. I also would kill to replicate what the Green Brigade have managed, Well up until they all got banned! But the thought of just nicking a song and changing as few words as possible to make it fit to Leicester really pisses me off. I wish we had a culture like Liverpool or United where new songs are actually encouraged. Because they take pride in their songs and their originality they will try harder to learn any new song they hear in the stands. I'm not sure if you read this forum, but this is a message to the lad who always starts the Celtic chant, the lad who used to have a flag before it was taken off him. PLEASE stop it, take time to make up a new chant, I personally love the idea of a back and forth chant, but please be original!

It sounds absolutely shit and it becomes almost impossible to keep up with

Can't knock his attitude but he's got a big tendency of doing this. I believe he came up with the Wasyl song though.

To be fair he doesn't shut up and keeps going all game, which is exactly what we need. I also love the Wasyl Song! BECAUSE ITS ORIGINAL!! Have a word with him mate.
cityfanlee23 Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Fair enough regarding celtic (Just so you know I'm not the celtic chant starter! ) With regard to WYS, If we just organise a pub to meet at every game pre match.. we can all walk to the ground together... get to know eachothers faces, It will be so much easier to control the song, if a large group of us start it, and keep it at a constant pace... The others will surely follow?

His stuff with his shoes the other day was so ridiculous it was class I need to know who the hell this long brown haired lad is, the short one, I'm seeing him everywhere.

You can't knock Craney,is that his name. We'd only need 50 of us if we were all like him.Just have a word with him mate about any concerns you have. It's all right talking on here but when were at the game that's the real world. No offence at all mate I'm glad your over with us,but maybe we should all make our selfs known to each other and we might get things going better.
Dan Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Is he the one that goes down the stairs and tries to capo a bit? Yeh it's him. I thought it was Kitchandro at first because I'm pretty sure I remember him saying he's quite small himself, and he's only started appearing since around the Charlton game More and more are getting up there. It was good in SK1 I thought on Tuesday, just poor from the rest of the ground considering we'd just gone up. I 100% agree mate. I'm sure by next season we'll all know each other!
cityfanlee23 Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Ok so where is the "Official" SK1 pub going to be? Suggestions?

Had a good chat with him at half time, top lad.I'd much rather us all meet up in a pub before the game in a pub.
AndWhat? Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Swan and Rushes, well at least until they sell out of the Munich beers.
Soup Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 I'm up for the Swan, but for QPR it won't open till 11,so might as well hit spoons, unless.there's anywhere else for early drinking.
