Dave Gilbert. May you Rest in peace

Yesterday as very long serving and much adored steward passed away. Our own Dave Gilbert

   I personally have known him since he was on the gates in the west stand B/C blocks but back in the filbert days he was around everywhere, been at the club since the 60's working behind the goals, collecting rubbish and loo rolls of the pitch putting it all behind the goal at the amusement of our typical piss taking fans throwing their fags onto it trying to light it .
   Those of you who knew Dave will know he was one of lives genuinely nice men and was always helpful and kind. an inspiration to many and described as a father figure from others. Every match day myself and my stepdad used to have a long chat about football with him and the other steward he worked with and it became tradition for us. Match days won't be the same without him and he will be missed by many.

Didn't really know Dave, but he worked with my Dad on the gate and behind the Kop goal from about 66 to the late 80's.

RIP Dave. You were a true gent.

RIP Dave, will miss our banter at every game, a true gentleman, i knew Dave since the 70s when he was the steward in the tunnel area between the fosse bar and the main stand, always had a smile for you and dealt with problems diplomatically and in a timely manner, my deepest sympathy goes to all his family, Will miss him.
