Higher or lower?

    • Ban the bastard for life
    • He's misunderstood, leave him alone
    • All goals scored by Suarez at the World Cup should be retrospectively expunged, and all results altered accordingly. Bit desperate this one ð???

Should have banned him atleast til City get there games with Looneypool out the way!

Personally I would have gone for LOSERpool or LiverPOO but there you go...

1 to 2 years that is ridiculous, far worse has happened on a football pitch for far less punishment.

In context would you rather have Suarez have a nibble on your shoulder or a Roy Keane on Alf Inge Haarland tackle on you?

Is the bite worse than Cantona kicking a fan, Di Canio pushing over Paul Derkin, Harold Schumakers challenge, Ben Thatchers elbow, alan shearers kick to the head or a player racially abusing another?

Don't get me wrong I don't support Suarez and feel the ban is about right for a third offence, but some people are blowing this way out of proportion.

In true FT tradition, everything you've said can be discounted and ignored, because you got the refs name wrong. :D

It was Paul Alcock.

I don't get why people keep using this as an argument. Who here is defending any of those actions?! I'm sure most people agree that every one of those players deserved a lengthy ban, regardless of whether they received one or not, so it's not like this is some faux outrage cooked up just because people don't really like Suarez. If Cantona returned from his ban and then proceeded to attack another two fans, then I'm pretty sure he'd be receiving the same reaction as Suarez is getting right now. How many chances are we supposed to give the bloke?

Nobody is defending any of those but pointing out that worse things happen on the pitch that don't result in a which hunt and pathetic calls for life time bans and bans way out of proportion to the crime.

Cantona, Keane, Jones even go further back to hunter etc. and the like were all repeat offenders and there are many more examples, but I don't recall people calling for life bans.

As I have said previously the man clearly needs help, not an over reaction and a life long ban.
