Higher or lower?

  1. 1. Higher or Lower?

    • Ban the bastard for life
    • He's misunderstood, leave him alone
    • All goals scored by Suarez at the World Cup should be retrospectively expunged, and all results altered accordingly. Bit desperate this one ð???

Did the little slug get a fine?

I wondered that? Will Liverpool continue to pay his billion quid an hour lol for the duration of his four month ban?

Less than half a weeks wakes.

Well I'm not being funny but how much do you want to do to him lol, can't play for Liverpool till November, out of the World Cup, out of the Copa America depending on whether freindlies count or not, definitely can't play for Uruguay again this year regardless. can't even go near a football stadium, how much do you want to fine him? lol he aint going to miss it no matter how much it is is he. They've already hit him where it hurts

They hit him before with bans. Not as long and drastic as this one, though.

Still, it makes one wonder whether he thrives on both his own erratic nature and the reaction it causes.

Now watch him hit 35+ goals for Real Madrid soon.

Just wondering if a player has ever received a domestic suspension for something that happened in an international or vice versa before?

On the incident, it's not a good look at the biggest sporting competition in the world and I think FIFA have acted with a suspension that is just about right.

An amazingly talented player, but clearly with some serious issues going on, I would have liked some conpulsary counciling or anger management training to be part of the ban, before he can return to the field. Purely just banning him does not address the deep underlying issue that is going on here, and until this is properly addressed issues like this will continue to happen for him.

The details of the ban (no training nor ANY association with anything football related such as going near a stadiium) are great as far as I'm concerned, but doesn't go on for long enough.

As for "hitting him where it hurts" half a weeks wages is not really something he's going to miss, is it? The ban will upset him, yes, but he's been banned for a similar length of time 3 times now and he clearly learnt absolutely nothing.

For him to really take notice and think "perhaps I should change my ways..." a MINIMUM month's wages would have been better. Pity it's a fraction of his actual earnings. Hopefully all of his sponsors will void their contracts with him.

Should have banned him atleast til City get there games with Looneypool out the way!

He's probably giggling to himself at that ban + fine to be honest. fvck it, may aswell do it again... He already knows what his punishment will be next time.. 5 months.

If this was the first time he'd committed this particular offense I'd say that the punishment would be considered apt, however it is not. It's now the third time this has happened and it's not exactly low key. He has done this on the worlds biggest stage and he can't put it down to emotion or adrenaline. He is a god with a ball at his feet but he is now going to be remembered as the nutter who bit defenders, such a shame. The ban in my opinion should have been lengthy, purely for the fact that it's a repetitive issue and going on his history will happen again. Football is a contact sport and no doubt when emotions are high mistakes happen, silly red cards etc. but this cannot be skirted around, he has an intent to hurt and damage people and personally I don't understand how people can defend his actions.

Do Liverpool still have to pay his wages while he can't play for them?

If not perhaps some law should come out where a player doesn't get paid while banned after committing an outrageous act such as biting or ABH. Might be one way to make players behave a bit more.

He's not going to miss money, unless you hike it up to 200-300% higher than the highest fine ever seen in football witch would just be ridiculous  lol

To say he's been banned before is a mornic argument, he may have been banned befroe, but this ban trumps any other domestic ban given to him by a distance and has also ended his World Cup and possibly he's involvement in the national side for years, lol different fcking story

I believe Liverpool can sue him for indirect breach of contract, they wont though.

Way too low

Should be much much higher

1 to 2 years I was thinking

Still he plays for Liverpool so that probably explains the leniency

1 to 2 years that is ridiculous, far worse has happened on a football pitch for far less punishment.

In context would you rather have Suarez have a nibble on your shoulder or a Roy Keane on Alf Inge Haarland tackle on you?

Is the bite worse than Cantona kicking a fan, Di Canio pushing over Paul Derkin, Harold Schumakers challenge, Ben Thatchers elbow, alan shearers kick to the head or a player racially abusing another?

Don't get me wrong I don't support Suarez and feel the ban is about right for a third offence, but some people are blowing this way out of proportion.
