howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 A guy I know who works for a courier company delivered some boxes to the KP today containing 22'000 plastic cards!! And on the payment subject mine left my account on the 30th but it only showed as paid on the online schedule yesterday.
Jon the Hat Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Some people must live right on the line if they're overdrawn because a DD for a season ticket takes them over if it comes out a few days earlier. Or people are not stupid enough to leave cash sitting in their current account when it could be earning at least a little bit of interest elsewhere.
crazylegs1984 Posted 10 July 2014 Author Posted 10 July 2014 well if that's true about them getting them in today hopefully everyone should start receiving them soon
promised land Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Or people are not stupid enough to leave cash sitting in their current account when it could be earning at least a little bit of interest elsewhere. OK I'll bite. (smiliey face to show I'm not being totally serious and arguing) With the Banks interest rate at 0.5% and has been for what 5 or so years, any interest rate is going to be very very low indeed, so if you get 1.5% on an account where you can reach your money easily, a £400 season ticket would return £6 a year. Now seeing as we are talking about installments, I don't know what they are as I didn't do the Direct debit but I'd imagine they're around £40 a month, you will get nothing from that over a year, then you're switching it to your current account every month as well. Plus if you keep your account on the line all the time, how do you live day to day? I know some people live on overdrafts, payday loans etc and can't get out of the cycle once in it, but if you do live that way, then surely a season ticket is the wrong thing to do when you are short of money as it is. It's a luxury and not a neccessity like food, rent, mortgage, bills etc. Probably being self employed gives me a totally different outlook on finances than someone who works for a company and is paid a salary as they take it as a given they'll earn X amount each year. ETA. All the above is just a look on living in general and not directed at anyone on here before someone thinks I'm referring to them.
