johnny the fox Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 Its sandwiches all around at Leeds.. 11 million for McCormack.. FFS..
Banks Posted 8 July 2014 Posted 8 July 2014 Leeds fans are boasting about what a 'great deal' they've got, in many ways it is. Without McCormack last season they would of been relegated. £11 million for him is great money, however you'd think their supporters would realise by now that none of the money they get for players ever gets reinvested back into their squad... Look at Howson, Gradel, Snodgrass, and Becchio.
Pub breath Posted 23 September 2014 Posted 23 September 2014 So teams who have made it there purely on merit you don't want in the prem, but a team that has been consistently crap for years now, you do want there? Doesn't bother me if it's a popular opinion or not, it's just doesn't make any sense at all... I may be biased but I do think it makes sense. If we all sat down and were asked to form an ideal Premier League, would we be putting Wigan, Burnley, Watford or Fulham in it? All teams that have been up there but really, is that how we would design an ideal Premier League, full of teams with history, full grounds and mataches that have a bit of spice to them? I believe that if you asked most football fans to design their ideal PL, Leeds would be in there. So would Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby and probably Wolves. Booted out would be Burnley, West Brom, Hull and Palace. Leicester would be in mine and comfortably so. Leeds have suffered long and very, very hard for one season of absolute madness by a man who left the club over a decade ago. The knock on effect of that season still exists and still acts as a weight we have to drag on our slow climb back. Do any fans deserve that? People forget that Leeds enjoyed over a decade in the top flight without any financial issues, mostly in the top 5 with numerous European runs to quarter and semi finals, a cup final and a league title. We finished third and qualified for the Champs league before the spending started. We were fine, we didn't need to stretch for that next rung so early and eagerly. As for banks - 15 new players and a MUCH better squad and team say differently this time.

Nearly perfect. I'd have Wolves over Blackburn though.

Fair point about the title I guess. It's just their attendances that put me off, Ewood always seems half empty, even when they were in the prem. Wolves are one of those teams, like the two Sheffield clubs, that really should have spent much more time up there than they have. Huge underachievers.

Chug Laguna Posted 23 September 2014 Posted 23 September 2014 It amazes me that anybody would consider Boro as a team that should be in the Premier League. It amazes me that anybody considers Boro at all.
