sdb Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 RDL's crossing was utterly dreadful. What on earth our strikers are meant to do with deliveries like those, no-one knows. Shows what you get when you don't play with proper wide men who can actually cross a ball. Defensively he was ok. His crossing was dreadful...OK. But his positioning, passing, tackling, offering of a pass and general work rate far exceeded most around him. I didn't say his game was faultless, I said he was our best player in my opinion... stand by that
Harry - LCFC Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 They set up to frustrate us and hit on the counter, which they did succesfully. We set up to break them down, and we failed to create more than a couple of real chances. The tactics and stats pretty much nullify eachother, so in this case the only good impression you get of how the game went and which team did best is reflected in the scoreline. They got what they came for, we didn't. Sometimes football really isn't that complicated We had more of the ball, had more attacks, and looked less vulnerable at the back. We were the better team. You're also basing your view of the game on the scoreline. "They got what they came for, we didn't" or in other words, they won the game so they must have been the better team. Too simplistic a way of looking at things.
ADK Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 I felt it was our best defensive performance of the season.

Too simplistic a way of looking at things. Having more of the ball doesn't necessarily we were better. I don't agree we looked less vulnerable at the back. They cut us open with relative easy in the first half, which they didn't manage to exploit. While I might be putting more emphasis on the result, you seem to ignore it completely. How many times have we not heard the phrase that 'getting points while playing badly' is a sign of a decent team? Christ, how many times did we not witness it first hand last season? Obviously I'm not saying WBA are a great team, but I would fully expect them to finish midtable this year.
foxaholic Posted 4 November 2014 Posted 4 November 2014 WBA given a worse average than our team? I know this game isn't the best example, but I feel this comes from our fans not showing the respect towards teams like WBA. Do a lot still think we are superior or equal to them? Typical Leicester first side to win here and quoted as rubish regardless they did better thanArsenal Everton Man U and Burnley
