Stadt Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Seemingly they're running the club at a level where we are going to be making a smallish profit each year, not for them to take out but to allow us to grow organically and sustainably so we can continue to consolidate ourselves, unearth some gems and hopefully challenge for Europe.
sylofox Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 The fact we sacked the DoF and not Nige says for some reason he did not want to spend. Unless there was a reason we know nothing about it seems summer spending was down to him. The fact we did not spend and Nige is here says they were happy to spend and don't blame Nige. Mr Random Silly say's Kramaric was a summer target. Why did we not get him then Nige wants him now. Nige may have made mistakes as all managers do but would not waste money. He had a plan and handed it over but seems the tools were not provided. Our owners seem like they agree and will now back that plan.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 They wiped our debts out, so they must have money... I think they are listed as billionaires. Money certainly isn't the issue, however we still need to be reasonable and within FFP. That means we can't go spending money like Chelsea or Man City regardless of how much our owners can fork out. These owners are quiet and seem to be running the club properly, giving Pearson time and not sacking a manager every other month. They allow Pearson to get on with his job and don't sell or buy players behind his back
foxinsox Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 I would agree. Plenty of Clubs have been the playthings of crazy millionaire owners. Cardiff, Hull and Newcastle spring to mind. The Thais have learned quickly that opening the checkbook on its own is not enough. I like their quiet businesslike manner.

This quiet like manner is what will see the club move forward over the next 5 years. They are very efficient in what they do without razzmatazz. Whilst I don't question the combined wealth of the family, I don't believe there is a never ending pot of gold that they will dip into at the first sign of a crisis, any substantial spend will be expected to return a benefit to the club in some form. There are still plenty of players in this world that are prepared to " only " get 30 grand a week and the Thais are well aware of that. There is a lot be to be said for owners that don't originate from wealthy countries where Bentleys are the norm for your first car!
Vicki Vixen Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 Being wealthy and having ready access to large sums of cash don't always go hand in hand. Much of their wealth is likely to be tied up in other investments. I'm not saying they are not rich, just making the point that it doesn't always mean there is plenty of cash in the bank.
Guest MattP Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 The family is wealthy. That doesn't equate to the family wanting to plow their wealth into a football club. They probably thought it was an easy game when they turned up and appointed Sven and gave him license to spend before learning football doesn't write work like that. They have other projects as well, the polo players for the King Power team won't come cheap.
