How many of the six girls got pregnant deliberately as part of a commonplace benefits tactic? Otherwise why on earth would so many girls be so bloody stupid?

Its the burden of being generous. I wouldn't live in a country that didn't look after the poor to at least the extent that we do, although we don't do enough. You just have to accpet there will be some tits that take 'advantage' of the system to the disadvanatage of the nation and ultimately themselves.

Let's look after the elderly before we start looking after these spongers, there are millions of OAP's out there on the breadline and most of em have payed taxes all their lives, and we can't even give em a decent pension

My Grandparents are loaded. If my Grandad dies before my nan she'll be getting £50k a year of his pension. Yet they still get a state pension and i expect many more do as well. There's a generation of a lot of rich OAPs that really don't need the money but they get it anyway. The money should be saved for future genrations who are actually gunna be screwed when they're older.

Well not all single parents are spongers and in many cases are the most deserving people of state help.

What an intelligent and thought provoking peice of journalism...

Indeed. I lived happily until yesterday, when I was reminded that the Sun also has a website... :(

How are they the most deserving?

Unless their partner has died i have no sympathy for them whatsoever

Your Grandparents are very much in the minority, but even your grandparents have payed their dues over the years so they deserve the pension. What you have to remember is that a pension is not a handout it's what you are owed for paying NI all your life

Now, THAT, I very much agree with.

"Ain't he cute, no he ain't. He's just another burden on the welfare state!.

Written in 1979. To quote another Specials song "Nothing ever change"......

He's certainly done too much too young.

If it's any consolation, so does the Mirror.

Do teenage girls really want to spend the best years of their life changing shitty nappies when they could be out seeing the world and having fun? Is it worth it with the cost of child care, baby sitters, clothes and having a snotty-nose kid :devil: under your feet for the next 15 plus years? :o

You're lucky. There's many more are not. There are many, many old people with barely a pittance to live on. Furthermore many old or late middle aged people are shedding what little they do have on their children/grandchildren so they have come chance of a decent start in life.

I was at Oxford yesterday (hamlet of Wolvercote by the Thames makes a super day out) and ordinary semi-detached two/three bedroomed houses were £250,000-£310.000. Disgusting in my view. Three hours flight away in Bulgaria - detached house for £20,000 (with enough land to build again).

Hypocrites. Promiscuity and soft porn is being actively promoted within the Sun by Page 3 girls, and titilating pieces like "readers letters" on the "problem pages". However at the moment somebody is promiscuous or simply experiments then they are singled out as being bad in some way. Make your fecking mind up.:mad:

It's a pity they're not so keen to examine the morals of their own and other newspaper journalists. Make a good book that would.

This is also very sad. :(:unsure:

A 16-year-old girl has been pregnant 10 times since the age of 12, research has revealed.

The girl, who has two young children, is understood to have undergone three abortions and suffered five miscarriages in the last four years.

It is not known whether all 10 pregnancies were by the same man or a string of partners.

Her story came to light when researchers looked into the worrying spread of sexually transmitted diseases among underage girls attending a sexual health clinic in south London.

A doctor made the discovery after being granted access to the girl's medical notes, which would normally be kept private.

Researchers said it was known the girl, who cannot be named, had suffered abuse and had been receiving counselling. Hers was the most shocking case among the 144 underage girls at the clinic they visited.

The study also revealed that girls under 16 were three times more likely to contract sexually transmitted diseases than older women.

One in five had chlamydia, a symptomless disease which can cause infertility, and almost one in 10 had gonorrhoea, which also poses a threat to fertility by damaging fallopian tubes and can increase the chances of suffering an ectopic pregnancy.

The results of the study, conducted at a clinic in Camberwell, have been published in the journal Sexually Transmitted Infection.

The records of all 144 girls aged between 12 and 16 were examined. Dr Sarah Creighton from Camden Primary Care Trust, who led the study, said the findings were very worrying.

She said: "My research hit me in the face. I was completely unprepared for the sexual cases I encountered. It was not just sexual ignorance. They knew that if they didn't use a condom they were at risk of infection.

"We were expecting to see quite high levels of infection because south London has problems with chlamydia and gonorrhoea, but even we were surprised.

"If the younger children had similar levels to older women that would be surprising enough, but they had three times as many."

The girls admitted to doctors at the clinic that less than a quarter of them had used contraception during sex and most of them had become pregnant at least once.

Dr Creighton added: "They were unable to negotiate safe sex - to insist on a condom. What shocked me was the number of girls who came back time and again with another infection or pregnancy.

"The first time may have been through ignorance but by four times we'd hope the message had got through."

Dr Creighton's research indicated that girls were less concerned about keeping clear of infection than they were about keeping a regular sexual partner.

Nuala Scarisbrick, trustee of the charity LIFE, said: "These latest findings make depressing reading but sadly they are what we feared. Children are experimenting with sex, and sexually transmitted diseases are rampant."
