Brooksy Posted 17 February 2015 Posted 17 February 2015 If it goes down to the wire, against QPR, with us needing a win to survive, and doing so, it would be like winning the FA Cup Final. I agree, especially if, there is, a pitch, invasion.
6ups 6downs 2 cups Posted 17 February 2015 Posted 17 February 2015 Season 90/91 was crap, awful in fact, but guess what, how many of us smile thinking about Tony James and Oxford and the last day escape. QPR could be the same, Was or Huth to score as we scramble to safety!please!
Swiss_tony Posted 17 February 2015 Posted 17 February 2015 If we complete the great escape? At this stage I cant imagine the incredible feeling of staying up. But will that feeling top promotion? It got me thinking, is it harder to stay in this division, or to get into it? Surely both are seen as great successes? Will the Pearson haters suddenly disappear ? Or would it still not be enough? I just hope our players are up for the scrap, there's a lot of football still to be played and we are by no means a lost cause. well there's nothing to suggest in the 25 games we've had so far bar about 2 games that they're up for any sort of scrap. if they were we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. i expect us to get about another 10 pts and finish comfortably adrift of 19th. bring on the championship.

Got to disagree with this. For me the players have been putting everything they've got into the games, they just lack the quality. They are playing for the manager, the fans and their own careers. Im just hoping this can be enough in the games that are going to really matter. Staying up with a below average premiership squad would be a fantastic achievement.
Matt Posted 18 February 2015 Posted 18 February 2015 Thing is if we did stay up (Which we won't imo, we are already gone, but if) I fear it'd be a false representation of the players we have, we need and overhaul, the majority of this team needs to go, they are not good enough barr one or two, obviously I want us to stop up but if we did I feel people would cut the players slack, we'd still have most of them here next season, we won't really replace many and we'll be in a similar scenario the following season, don't get me wrong if we managed to stay up the players deserve some credit they will have done great but we'd need to improve massively the following season. As i've said I can fault their efforts and commitments this season, they have been trying, I cannot deny that, but it's simply down to them not being good enough and not having enough quality, which is why for me we're already relegated, it's not simply going to click and change, we're not gonna suddenly become good enough. **In this league, they are all [very ] good Championship players, no where near a Premiership standard though.
