Strokes Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Actually forgot Darts been a few times. It's more like going to a giant pub really though.Still, its what makes it brilliant.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 27 March 2015 Posted 27 March 2015 Went to the Ice Hockey in Nottingham and really enjoyed it (this was a while back) - would be interested to see it in a place where the crowd are ****ing nuts for it, though. Because American sports have mixed crowds, I didn't expect much of the tribalism you get at football. But while I was taking a look around the arena before the game, I stumbled across huge groups of Montreal and Toronto fans taunting each other about how long it's been since they each won the Stanley Cup. It was great.

It was great. You're absolutely right. Pro-sports in America have become too corporate. I think part of it they have priced themselves out of blue collar folks who would stand and cheer during the games. Now everyone is too busy looking at their phones, not paying attention, sitting on their hands. Probably the closest thing you'd get to the atmosphere and intensity of a football match in america is a college (american) football game. Crowds of up to 110,000 people. Long standing rivalries with a lot of bad blood.
