Asha Posted 25 March 2015 Posted 25 March 2015 Ok, I'm interested to know all the sports that you've been to see live, and where. Obviously we're talking about a certain professional standard. Watching a kids game in the park doesn't really count. So, for me: - Football (obviously) - in the English leagues, in Sweden and in Poland. - Formula 1 - just at Silverstone so far but I'm hoping to make it to a different race in Europe this summer. - Snooker - I spent a lot of time at the Welsh Open over the last two years it was in Newport. - Basketball - Ok, so it's definitely not a top level match but I have seen a Polish 2nd division game which was pretty cool. Basketball really isn't my thing but it was a decent little outing. - Ice Hockey - I've seen an ice hockey match in the Czech Republic. Ocelaři are actually a ****ing awesome team and they've been tearing up the Czech league this year. ...and I'm going to my first handball match on Saturday. Perhaps it's interesting that I've never seen a rugby or cricket match live despite living in Leicester for so long. I've never really had the desire to go to either but I will eventually make it to both someday. If there's been a similar thread recently then hopefully mods can delete that.

Alf Bentley Posted 25 March 2015 Posted 25 March 2015 Football: England, Scotland, France, Spain, Portugal; Euro 88; World Cup 2006 Cricket: Kent regular in youth; tests at Lords, Oval & Adelaide Horse racing: Leicester Greyhounds: Catford Gaelic football: county match ....and that's it, I think. Never even been to a rugby match. These days, I follow little sport apart from football. If I had more time, I'd get back into cricket. If I had more time & more money, I'd like to get into horse racing. Gaelic football seems like a good game, though I don't have a proper appreciation of the tactics, strategies, player movement etc.

I wouldn't recommend Leicester unless you were that bothered about the result mate. Crowds are good compared to a lot of the country, but the track is notoriously bad, making for very boring races.
