IOWFOX Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 Fabian Cancellara will miss the remainder of cycling's spring classics after fracturing his lower back at the E3 Harelbeke race in Belgium. "It all happened so fast," the Swiss said. "I flew over a couple of riders and landed in a pile of bikes. I fell so hard, and felt pain everywhere." Cancellara, who has won three times at both the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix, was one of several riders to crash when a discarded water bottle caused chaos in the peloton. He abandoned the race a few kilometres afterwards. Trek Factory Racing later added on Twitter: "X-rays have confirmed the worst: Two fractures of vertebrae in lower back for Cancellara means no spring campaign."
chuck'em Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 It doesn't really though, does it. It has nothing to do with football.
Itsthejoeker Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 Bert Trautman broke his neck in the 17th minute of the 1956 FA cup final and didn't have it x-rayed until 3 days later.
MooseBreath Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 Jeff Schlupp has been playing with a severe mental injury for months.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 Well to be honest, you don't want to risk your players, making the injury a lot worse plus his performance would drop could cost your team
Benguin Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 Footballers aren't wimps, they're trying to get free kicks or penalties. After they've fallen over crying, if the decision goes their way they normally get up and look fine.
StanSP Posted 28 March 2015 Posted 28 March 2015 Sorry, but I had to change that misleading title cos it has nothing to do with putting anything in to perspective with football
