Kilworthfox Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Right so got myself thinking today, seeing as I am minted, Maybe I should buy Portsmouth Football club & move them to another town & start a new club deserving of Championship football. I rekon Gloucester, Loughborough, Crawley, Leeds, Huddersfield, or Newport could all sustain a good fanbase. Portsmouth are in dire straits (£138.6M in debt), & I believe that it would be a good move to relocate to a new city or town. Portsmouth obviously can not sustain a football club to compete in the higher leagues so lets move the club to an area which can. What do u think of the idea??? Also any better suggestion sfor the move??? Maybe even Leicester!
lcfc_jme Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 As long as I can be head of PR / Marketing, I don't care where Pompey get dumped. The more central the better though, increases potential to recruit fans and tourists.
Kilworthfox Posted 6 May 2010 Author Posted 6 May 2010 Can i be health and safety officer?? Yeah Boiiiiii, How about Market Harborough? We could be the Royalists???

Fosse Boy Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Yeah Boiiiiii, How about Market Harborough? We could be the Royalists??? Little Bowden Rec is prime land for stadium development. Harborough for 2018?
Kilworthfox Posted 6 May 2010 Author Posted 6 May 2010 Little Bowden Rec is prime land for stadium development. Harborough for 2018? Ha Ha its all coming together, there is even a Station near by. Market Harborough could be playing Leicester City next season! Can you believe it! MASSIVE rivalry! We can keep The Portsmouth badge & we must respect their previous heratage for a couple of seasons but the screw all that off & we have a club league position easy as eating apple pie. Now that's magic kids Rekon the F.A would be ok with this?
MC Prussian Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Leominster - the far West wasteland could use a proper football league team & ground. We'll build it from scratch and from thereon they shall be known as the Lions (an old fart, know). The transition would be done in best US-sports franchise fashion. Somebody come up with a proper team logo - it's got to be funky, intimidating and sell like bikinis for summer.
Fosse Boy Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Actually, we could play on Symo's. Close to the station, Freemasons (or whatever it's called nowadays) becomes the away pub. Should be bangin'.
Tommeh Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 As long as the stadium has padded seats you can count me in.
Kilworthfox Posted 6 May 2010 Author Posted 6 May 2010 Pfft, Amateurs. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey A ha ha ha ha ha Guess whose been to MK today?

davieG Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Isle of Man - never been there would be a good away trip if we;re in the same league and the sailor boys would still feel at home.
Narborough_fox Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Goalkeeper for a bag of tangfastics and £3 a week!
The Doctor Posted 7 May 2010 Posted 7 May 2010 Goalkeeper for a bag of tangfastics and £3 a week! pfft. i'd do it for the tangfastics alone.
ozleicester Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Cmon folks, gotta be thinking more big picture with this, bring Portsmouth down under. Large fan base available, It maintains its "Southern" location, The prem league was looking to travel O/S one round a year.. this way it becomes once a fortnight. All visiting fans wont be at risk of being beaten up (granted they may be murdered and dumped in the outback, but it wont be many). The home fans could offer some kind Billeting system so a visiting fan gets a free holiday. Best of all... most people down here know **** all about football, so they will think theyve got a good side and plow millions into the club.
