Foxes_Trust Posted 14 October 2004 Posted 14 October 2004 We were interviewed about him by Radio Leicester tonight For info he managed Stoke for 3 years, but was sacked after getting them promoted (fell out with board) Also managed Barnsley briefly & ex Manager of Iceland. Father of Joey (yes our player), Bjarni (Coventry) and another one. An FT member has told us tonight that he was at the training ground a few weeks ago watching Joey train & seemed quite friendly knowledgeable about our current squad.
Ric Flair Posted 15 October 2004 Posted 15 October 2004 Gudjonsson would be guaranteed a starting place each game!!!!!!
Anish Posted 15 October 2004 Posted 15 October 2004 Why is his surname different? 26781 That's the way it works in Iceland. The surname is taken from your first name and continually changes through generation (unless everyone hs the same first name). So Joey's (or Johannes as he is really called) child will have the surname of Johansson.
Buzzell Posted 15 October 2004 Posted 15 October 2004 Not heard much of this fella. We would need more info before even trying to assign him to the managers job.

When he managed the Icelandic national team, we highest went to 44th at the FIFA list. Wich is very good for a country where only 290.000 people live. But after he resigned, og was sacked(don't remember) the team's now 88th:( Altough I'm not a Leicester fan(Liverpool here), I would really think Guðjón would be a good choice for the club, not only because I'm Icelandic. He's really good. I hope you understand my english, thank you.
TeddyCool Posted 19 October 2004 Posted 19 October 2004 We have joy we have fun we have Joey Gudjonsson He got style but no hair He is angry we don´t care
Scow Posted 19 October 2004 Posted 19 October 2004 We have joy we have funwe have Joey Gudjonsson He got style but no hair He is angry we don´t care 27743 Wahey, you Icelanders have some creativeness.
TeddyCool Posted 19 October 2004 Posted 19 October 2004 Hi I am from Iceland to and I want to tell you how that name system really works in Iceland. Jóhannes Karl Guðjónsson (Joey Gudjonsson as you know him) is the son of Gudjon Thordarson and that´s why Joey´s surname is Gudjonsson. Son like Gudjons-son means "son of" and Joey is son of Gudjon. There are exceptionsfrom this rule like Eidur Gudjohnsen. His father´s name is Arnor Gudjohnsen and accordingto the rule Eidur´s surname should be Arnorsson but Gudjohnsen is a family and if you have a family name the same style is here as in England and most of other countries in the world Hope that was not to complicated
Cobbo Posted 19 October 2004 Posted 19 October 2004 We have joy we have funwe have Joey Gudjonsson He got style but no hair He is angry we don´t care 27743 That is pure class :: We need to start singing that!
TeddyCool Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 We sing that in Iceland when the national team is playing!
Ric Flair Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 That is a brilliant song, we have got to start singing that. We never sing any songs about any of our players though are Leicester fans iliterate?
Anish Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 I don't think Joey Gudjonsson has done enough to warrant signing a song about him just yet. Yes it's a great song but I would feel a bit apprehensive singing a song about a player that hasn't impressed me much.
