City_4_Life Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 Cheers LWICD. Well what i was trying to say is that we are 1 point above the relegation zone, with 9 points from 9 games. Are our expectations now just to stay in this league? We have a couple of hard games coming up and i just cant see where the goals are coming from.
ithuriel Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 from whats been offered up so far , without investment then its a struggle for survival in this league now.
lookwhaticando Posted 23 September 2006 Author Posted 23 September 2006 I know I'm going to get a lot of flak for being a happy-clapper or some sh/t like that, but I still think we can push on. 21st position isn't our calling, we can achieve higher this season than last. It'd help if Johnson wasn't our central midfielder - we need Williams back.
mellowyellow Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 Mid table obscurity beckons. Got to be at least six sides worse than us - provided we can score goals that is .

I'd rather we chucked Hughesless out of the team than Johnson. At least the latter showed that he can occasionally support our attackers...

Simon Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 I don't want either Hughes or Johnson. My sentiments exactly...
BartonFox Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 My pre-season sentiments remain if we don't go down then we'll survive by a few points at best. We are dreadful and unless Uncle Milan comes in and or The Coach gets punted back up the M6 we can look forward to going bust.

A few of us explained in graphic detail why we'd struggle this year but no-one seems brave enough to fix it even when the onfield problems are so glaring.

Indeed that did happen, and it is so depressing when people won't listen because they don't want to be a trouble maker or disloyal. Either we have a large pig headed element in our support or a humungous number of stupid fans and I know which one I think it is.
woznotwos Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 its all so uninspiring, especially when you look over your shoulders at the tree huggers
Mort Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 Just what has Williams done that would justify his inclusion? ...not being Hughes or Johnson, worth a try... play him as an attacking midfielder in front of Weso, as i say worth a try and it's not hard to better the performances Hughes and Johnson this season... at the same time when are we going to give Gradel and Chambers their shot?!
OBO Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 It's early days and all that, lots of points left to play for, I'm still holding out a little hope that we can do something meaningful this season even if it's just managing to do better than last, but if something doesn't change soon we're not going to be improving on a thing. When Williams is fit he needs to play. ANYTHING is better than what was on display today.
Daggers Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 ...not being Hughes or Johnson I think Johnson was the only decent player on the pitch today. (Tiatto would have made it two.) This either says a lot about these two players, my perception or the rest of the sodding indolent squad. I go for the later...
Maybes Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 We will do well to avoid relegation at the current rate
Ultra Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 I think Johnson was the only decent player on the pitch today. ( Who's your dealer??? Johnson was a disgrace - AGAIN!! Get the parasite OUT of our club!!

It'd help if Johnson wasn't our central midfielder - we need Williams back. Indeed. People forget that it's still early in the season, and last night's performance aside we have been performing well - Sunderland, Coventry, West Brom (result aside), and these are shaping to be top teams my friends. The final place is from our performance over the season, not one crap match. If we had have won last night we would be mid table.
SydneyFC Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 In current form, We'll be struggling to better last year.
ithuriel Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 i think were about the same as last year , a point a game.
lcfc_jme Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 It isn't good enough really. We'll struggle to sort things out and improve if excuses keep being made for our side. RK needs to show he can gain control of the team and get them peforming, otherwise he needs ejecting from power. Likewise the Board.
Guest Gist Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 We needs goals to win games we just aint doing that at the minute. The midfield hasn't got a clue what to do with the ball when they get it and they just slow down any chance of an attack by keep passing it backwards.
BartonFox Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 Indeed. People forget that it's still early in the season, and last night's performance aside we have been performing well - Sunderland, Coventry, West Brom (result aside), and these are shaping to be top teams my friends. The final place is from our performance over the season, not one crap match. If we had have won last night we would be mid table. Oh behave yourself. We have been dreadful since April and there has been no sign of any improvement, we now have people grasping at straws about players like O'Grady and Porter being good enough for this division. Rob Kelly is not the answer and he doesn't deserve anymore time at all, he need punting immeadiately. If it wasn't so serious I'd laugh.
Daggers Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 Oh behave yourself. DanTheFox is in Australia, he doesn't get to games and consequently has little input of worth on the whole issue of team performance, selection and motivation - he hasn't seen what we see.
