By matchday 30 was when things looked the bleakest that season

In that season we had 17 points at this stage and were 3 points off safety. We went on a terrible run then in the next 9 matches picking up just another 2 points and were on 19 points at matchday 30 and 7 points off safety. I know we are all feeling the doom and gloom at the minute but if we can just add a couple of players and get things right I still believe we have a chance. It's in our hands (we have Everton, Ipswich, Wolves) still to play and need to get behind the lads..... Great escape V2.0 followed by Premier League win v2.0 next season?

I lump United and Spurs into higher echelon clubs but they are underachieving even more than we are

Think it's pretty symptomatic of the January transfer window though. Yes we look at our particular situation but just as easily Everton, Wolves, Palace fans are in need of new players and it's just as important to fans fighting near the higher echelons of the league to reinforce (United, Arsenal, Spurs) but find the January window almost impossible to work in

Let's be honest here...other than Ipswich filling a loan spot what other business has happened yet or is even close to happening for any club? None that's what...contract extensions, recalling loan players is about as far as it's gone so far. We are no less active than any other club

We're already gone mate ...don't torture yourself.....we could improve a lot and still go down....it's not happening I'm afraid....the gap between us and 17th is just going to grow and grow

Disagree with the statement that we are a good side. In the Premier League we are a poor side. We have potential to be a good side but equally we have the potential to be utterly terrible....just hope we keep improving.

Halfway point so where do people think we will finish this season.... personally I think 18th is as good as it might get.

Probably going down but that's just simply because we are not good enough. Let's not pretend we wouldn't need to be a lot lot better to be in a Crystal Palace sort of position (2 wins more than us). We might have lost 2-1 to Brentford, 2 nil to Newcastle, beaten Bournemouth 2 nil and Southampton 5-2 but our points tally would still be the same all be it with a better goal difference. Gap between Prem Clubs and Championship is getting bigger and bigger which highlights just how damaging it was to drop down in 2022/23
