  1. No need for racial stereotypes man
  2. "for a goalkeeper of his quality" well yeah that's kind of the problem
  3. First pub I used to go to with my Dad was the Fullback and Firkin (then polar bear?) which I always remember as much more cavernous than it really is. I was a lot smaller I suppose...
  4. Don't know why but I sometimes dream I'm in the Swan and Rushes having a pint of Bateman's Mild. A very missed pub.
  5. British beers need more regional/city flags and crests on.
  6. Haven't seen many more one sided world cup matches than this
  7. worst crowds at any world cup bar maybe Qatar. Possibly even worse.
  8. I know in this country we all have to want them to lose but it's hard to cheer against France. Superb team and the best chance of a Euro win on the Great Satan's soil.
  9. The emergence of France as the European powerhouse is interesting. Feel like even when I started watching in the 90s it was more of a rugby than a soccer country and behind Germany, Italy, Holland and maybe even Spain and England in terms of football success. Immigration has obviously played a part in that change.
  10. Tin foil hat conspiracy - we only keep GSTK because it's the easiest one for dumb footballers to remember the lyrics to.
  11. Thanks for the recommendations. I live just down the road and spend way too much money there. Usually ale but as mentioned have become much more of a lager drinker. Maybe the weather...
  12. So I mentioned I'm drinking more lager these days and enjoying Paulaner and Spatenbrau Helles. Any recommendations for similar beers would be nice considering I'm next to Beers of Europe in Norfolk so can source a lot of good stuff, just a complete novice when it comes to non ale.
  13. I think Andy Burnham might be from the North West. Not sure though, he needs to confirm this.
  14. that feeling when someone rephrases / explains your joke better and gets the rep points you think you deserve
  15. robbed by the ref though
  16. The first devastating football loss I experienced, and still probably the worst. I couldn't quite comprehend that it had happened and half expected that we'd get another chance. Losing 4-3 to Wolves was a similar feeling, but I've pretty much come to terms with all LCFC heartache after the 2014-2021 era, whereas with England I'm still waiting for some redemption...
  17. why not just combine the two?
  18. I guess they already had a ticket. But why not just sell it? They change hands for thousands online. Then you can just go and enjoy the game.
  19. genuinely can't think of anything I'd rather do less than go to a football match with a baby
  20. Obviously the Canadians
  21. Ah those technical Japanese, beating the skillful Brazilians. Not like the fast but chaotic Africans. Better than the cynical Argentinians of course.
