The England goalie's arm's arder

I have serious football fatigue and I've enjoyed watching other sports this summer, like last year with the Olympics. Funnily enough though when I say this to my bourgie friends in the context of the 'Lionesses', I'm met with a kind of awkward silence and attempts to quickly move the conversation on to more acceptable topics. I'd probably get hearty agreement if I said the same thing about the men and the incessant football's coming home hype. I am terrified that someone from Sports Joe is going to stop me on the street and a video of me struggling to name a single women's footballer will go viral, leading to my ostracism from polite society.

I thought technically both Spain and Germany looked way ahead of England's organized chaos but admittedly I watch very little women's football

Would even go as far as saying Oasis were bad for British music

Would probably draw the line at euthanized but yes they're a crap band and their fans are very cringey

We're so numb to most stuff now but starving children sets off something that must be innate to us. It is grotesque.

Photos and stories coming out of Gaza really remind me of Bosnia, but perhaps even more extreme than that.

Tried shooing it out the window but I think it went behind one of the sofas in the players' communal area -
I think the idea that politicians sow division and without them we'd all get along fine is quite naive. Probably because the rise of the Nazis is so prevalent in our education and media. I think history shows the opposite - a state's elite has an interest in different ethnic or religious groups getting along, but things tend to unravel anyway when the shit hits the fan, especially in times of economic hardship. The English of course are confident that these things happen only in backward countries east of Vienna.

I can't go more than a few days without their red ale mustard mayonnaise and freshly ground Ethiopia.

Have a rep point even though I was waiting all night to make a similar post

exactly and there are so many stirring pieces of music about England

are we so afraid of displays of patriotism in this country that we're now wondering why people get emotional signing their national anthem
-
Both bangers. I do love the unironic jauntiness of inno di mameli though.
-
It's pretty dull and uninspiring especially before a football match, but I'll stop derailing the thread....

That's the whole point of national anthems really. Shame ours is such a dirge.
-
anthems tend to be performed, yes
-
always a bit awkward when these two anthems go head to head

Ah English hubris, we meet again.
