Perhaps not our most detestable manager on a personal level but in terms of actual management ability he's got to be the worst. Hopeless in every single aspect and the 'poor Ruud' narrative on here is mad. So he was 'lied' to about signing 3 players? Does anyone really think the man utd/psv reserve players he'd have brought in would have made any difference? If he was that pissed off over the lack of signings and a***hole squad members he could have always quit.

If I was already a multi millionaire, was useless at and hated the job I was currently in and was pretty much guaranteed to find another overpaid job in the industry fairly quickly... yeah I prob would.

But as I put earlier his managerial rep is already beyond repair due to the horrific job he's done. Quitting and not taking the payout is about the only thing he could do now to make him attractive to other clubs. -

Well if he 'really' doesn't want to be here then why should he stay? Hes earnt prob about a million over the last few months for doing the worst job possible to add to the millions hes already got. Money at this point means f all to him. Well assuming, as everyone believes, that he wasn't told the truth about any alleged January budget surely being lied to is just another reason for him to quit if he really does want to. -

Shame he just doesn't have the self respect to quit really. He doesn't need the couple of million he's holding out for and his managerial reputation will never recover from this whether he stays or not. -
On the plus side He's not RvN. Surely the worst manager wel ever employ. Martins style of enzoball+ totally vindicates my decision to ditch my st. I can't take any more of that passing endlessly between the cbs bollocks. Errr did I already mention he's not RvN? That's it.

M:I 8. Pretty decent although I'd prob put it 5th best in the series. The 4 above it are a really high bar though. Needed trimming down some length wise and Cruises escape from the otherwise brilliant submarine section was so ridiculous that it broke my suspension of disbelief, but overall the film was solid and I imagine will probably be the best blockbuster of the summer.

Like Moyes, or the wolves chap or Rodgers when he replaced puel or the hundreds of other examples of managers coming into clubs mid-season and not making them lose nearly every game usually in a pathetic manner. Yet you want to keep the one that has? Only one of us is mental based on that.
-
But we have been English football league record breakingly bad under him. You shouldn't need a preseason and a dozen January signings to prevent that unless you are utter utter shit. The fact that someone off this forum could have replaced Cooper and only have a mildly worse record than RvN shows how garbage he is.
-
So he said that Martin accumulated only 12 points over the whole season and keeps repeating that we beat Martins side 2 0 as if the replacement manager has exactly 0 responsibility for form since he arrived.
-
This shouldn't really need saying but Martin wasn't in charge of Southampton for half the season including when RvN (or Ferguson reincarnate as you insanely seem to think) struggled to a 2 0 win.

By the same logic we should keep hold of faes and Vesterrgard cos as extremely unlikely as it seems we could sign someone who performs worse. And you can't know that we would appoint a dof better than Rudkin so best keep him too. Now obviously our own eyes and knowledge would show that those 3 men much like RvN are absolutely bottom of the barrel when it comes to what they're paid to do but if you can't guarantee 100% that you'd replace them with better why risk it eh? -

I don't think we're getting a top class manager in but a mildly competent one at present would be a huge upgrade. -

Christ you don't need a single full training session to learn that vestergaard is the slowest footballer on earth let alone a full pre season!!! And watching 45 minutes of Ward should have at the least had him enquiring as to whether he was a professional goalkeeper and ditching him before the next game. Give it up. You can't defend RvN he's been as bad as it gets. -

You kind of are bothered as it goes against your narrative that Cooper is the anti christ, which is surely the main reason you are trying to stick up for statistically our worst ever manager. -

Pretty much every manager comes into a club without choosing the players and having most of them not be as good as he'd like. This is the reason you give for RvN being a record breakingly bad manager? -

RvN is one of the top flights worst ever managers, of course it's worth changing him. Are you suggesting that as long as Rudkin and Top are here we should keep him? -

This is one of the maddest things yet said about RvN. It's absolutely nonsense. Its akin to writing that Danny Ward combines excellent positional sense with sharp shot stopping!!! -

King and Murphy have been here a while now what actual improvements have they brought? We're still shite and you'd back any semi competent PL team to beat us comfortably. Cooper had little more than 2 months to polish this turd yet there's no way you'd advocate giving him longer. The stench of this season needs washing away and getting rid of one of the worst managers in Premier league history is as good a place to start as any. -

Well if signing players is like all his other managerial abilities theyl be sodding useless! And it's Glover as much as rvn who finds the players and he's had several windows and mostly signed trash. -

By playing youth you mean giving one or two 10 minutes now and again at the end of games? And RvN has regularly shown he has no style of play. He'd prob do ok in the Championship cos it's such a poor league but if by some miracle he actually got us promoted he's proven beyond any doubt that he wouldn't keep us up. He is garbage and he has got to go. A couple of million spent now getting rid of him is far more useful long term than giving it to Martin Glover to waste on another donkey. -

Murphy and king were brought in a couple of months ago and we remain utter shit. They've made no noticeable difference. He was brought into a bad situation where really he should have only been able to make improvements but as has been shown ad nauseum he, against all odds, made us considerably worse. Es that bad. It's utterly mad that a win against the 2nd worse Prem team ever, a single commendable result against a fading Notts Forest and the fact he's realised that Winks and Vestergaard are c***s has people prepared to give him time next season. He's got to go. We have to stop rewarding failures. -

Completely destroy is a real stretch and il point out that this 'martin crafted' Southampton side as abysmal as they are had until this weekend out performed RVN for the past 4 months. The board can clearly bring in someone better as they have managed it every other time they've appointed a manager. Whoever we appoint next and no matter how good/bad they are absolutely no one will be thinking wed be better off if we kept RvN instead. RvN is generationally bad and needs to go every bit as much as Rudkin and Glover.
