This whole topic is just one long fever dream that I revisit every 5-10 minutes.

I'm not putting too much into the tanner article. My initial thought was this article was based on the fact there's no chatter about a replacement, rather than because he’d been told BR has been given more time. I just really hope the reason he's still here is because the board are doing their due diligence on finding the correct replacement (now that Potter isn't an option) before giving him the boot.

Literally just posted the link to it, don’t believe it tbh

Probably more BS https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-brendan-rodgers-rafa-benitez-7605385

Listened to one of The Athletic podcasts this morning with Rob Tanner talking about the current situation and the links to Thomas Frank. Could be something in that you know. Was glad he mentioned that while BR has complained about the lack of funds, he's also the one responsible for spending a load of cash on squad players. General consensus at the moment seems to be his time is up, so glad I've not heard anyone defending him.

I’m starting to think the board had no contingency plan or any list of potential replacements should it all go tits up/BR got poached. Either that or they’ve fallen for his nonsense about being able to pull us out of tue mire. Regardless for how much I detest Chelsea, I admire the pace the moved at to replace Tuchel.
-
The only logical explanation I have for him being here still is that Brendan and Top are actually lovers.

Really hope we get that rather than BOTTLE TOP when Top wimps out of getting rid of him.
-
At one point in the conversation, Simon Jordan nearly said “look, I’m not defending Putin”, then corrected himself to say “Rodgers”. 😂

I've never believed for a moment that we don't have the money to sack him. Top is as aware as anyone else that relegation would be far more damaging. My guess is they have waited to see who blinks first; does BR leave to keep his reputation intact, or do they have to act due to our league position and give him his large payout? I think they have hoped things would turn around, but as they haven't they have been happy to let BR talk himself into trouble by blaming everyone but himself. I would also like to think they already have a list of potential replacements lined up, and that part of any delay could be to make sure they have all their ducks in a row before they pull the trigger.

That's a frightening read, so many similarities with today. Also shows that Rodgers is unlikely to change one bit. He's more interested in protecting his own brand than the club.

I REALLY need to change my avatar.

The only way this result has a silver lining is if we use it to sack Rodgers and replace him with Cooper just to annoy Forest.

My four year daughter came up to me and said “daddy, your team are learning to play football aren’t they?” More astute than our manager.

Hope he makes a good impression and is given time. Good luck to him, he’s probably desperate for some stability so here’s a big opportunity for him. I’ll support anyone who puts a Leicester shirt on that isn’t Dennis Wise. I’m not underwhelmed by him, perhaps just Whelmed.

I assume that’s the 10 mins before kick-off.

I’m all for giving the lad a chance if he signs for us. Could be a smart little acquisition. However, when I first saw this post was hot I shouted out loud “OH FFS WHY IS THIS HAPPENING”.
-
Hopefully it is a precaution and he has the international break to recover.

First day at work and everyone wants you fired.

LCFC 1-0 Man City - COMMUNITY SHIELD WINNERS!

Glad to see us show some passion in a game which is supposedly meaningless. It’s been made meaningless by the same old “elite clubs” who play this every season and don’t give a damn about it - it doesn’t bring them prestige or buckets of cash so it’s been rendered irrelevant. love to see that passion. It’s a trophy, another win at Wembley and a winning start to the season so I’m effing delighted.
