  1. Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. £3.90 a pint in my local and I don't drink 5-6 pints. 2 max. I guess I was using myself as the benchmark.
  2. I bet Musk is loving the click numbers on this
  3. Unless you've had it/got it/been affected by a loved one/friend with it you will never completely understand the emotions involved. It's easy to post shit without knowing the actual facts. Sadly these sorts don't give a **** if they offend or cause distress to others. All they (we) have is a laptop and a keyboard and that's all they (we) need to espouse their (our) views.
  4. I hope it's not linked to Ukraine.
  5. Huh? "£28 a month? go and spend even more in a pub each week". Can you really spend more than £28 a week watching Sky Sports in a pub? What do you watch?
  6. My regular pub used to but it got grassed up (by a regular customer who was not a foxes fan) and the landlord gave up his tenancy and left to avoid prosecution and potential evection by the brewery. Now it's fully brewery run. No dodgy streams anymore. And we have to suffer the limited choice of crisps and snacks dictated by the brewery. Grab bags of McCoy's at £1:60 a pop
  7. A temporary statue in Berlin in 2011 depicting politicians discussing climate change gradually becoming more submerged as water levels rise.
  8. If you were on anti-biotics you must have had a bacterial infection of some sort. Maybe a chest infection/pneumonia secondary to the 'flu?

  10. That won't stop people speculating about her condition or type of cancer.
  11. I'm referring this to Kate Middleton for confirmation
  12. Not seen anything from @FoxesDeb for a while now. Hopefully all is ok.
  13. Now the site of the Shady Lane arboretum PoW Camp 167 Stoughton – Repatriated Landscape
  14. It seems to me and probably most sports fans that the price of replica shirts is a scam and must make millions for the clubs/national teams etc. Personally, I can't understand the need to have the latest shirt in whatever colour or pattern or new collar. Chucking good money away IMO. Unless you believe you're financially supporting the club/team by spending your hard earned on what are TBH, inferior quality shirts. I accept that the club/team will make revenue from sales. Which is exactly why they change design every season or even during a season. I doubt England plc are short of cash. Would you go and buy the latest designer top when you already have a top by the same designer? Sorry I just don't get it.
  15. Nationwide has a pay in by cheque or by cash machine.
  16. Whatever you think of the photo, his comments aren't wrong. He seems quite insightful and seems to understand that some footballers feel they are better than "ordinary" people. I applaud his statement.
  17. A reminder that Aylestone used to be a village, like many others that have been swallowed up by the expanding city. Braunstone is another And Scraptoft:

  19. I think you'd be surprised. From Quora: "Some people may believe that TV soaps are factual for a few reasons. First, the storytelling in soaps often involves dramatic and emotionally charged situations, which can make it feel real to some viewers. Additionally, the actors in soaps often portray their characters in a very convincing manner, blurring the lines between fiction and reality for some audience members. Some viewers may also have difficulty distinguishing between fiction and reality, leading them to believe that the events depicted in soaps are actually happening. It's important for individuals to understand the difference between scripted entertainment and real-life events".
  20. Well, they built a house on Western Park... Seems to me the city council/planners don't know whether they're arsehole or watercress, and have never really had any vision or regard for the true history of our city. So many notable features have been removed, demolished or built over. It truly saddens me.
  21. I've not been to Jewry Wall for years and I understand there's been some work going on to make it more "interesting". Also I can't believe the council closed the Newarke Gateway which housed the Leicestershire Regiment museum in such an historic building. It now stands there doing nothing.
  22. When it works.
  23. They are. A shame really that we had a world class velodrome on Saffron Lane that hosted the world championships back in 1970 and then failed to do much after that and is now a housing estate. St Mag's could have been another feature had they not mistaken 100mts for 80mts in length. At least the diving pool and boards were up to international standards.
  24. Maybe they should just ask if they're a Turkish barber.
