It could well be Andy King, given his calm and influential presence around the club.
Thought that after the statement he made. But only if big nige is in as his advisor or senior assistant.

I don’t want Martin, but if it is him I won’t be booing etc… straight the way.
Though he’ll have to have a cracking start or it will turn ugly very quickly.

Nixon saying we are still trying for Martin.
I’m 100% convinced we’ve been interested in him since before Enzo. Didn’t we pretty much offer him the job and then go cold as there was fan backlash?
Wouldn’t surprise me, whether he’d step into league one don’t know.
wouldnt be my choice at all.

99% certain that if we'd have stayed up he would've been here.

Not sure, but I thought the full back that got released looked decent in the semi final I watched. Quick and strong. But was such a small sample of playing time.

How on earth have any of our fans got the mental fortitude to stick up for those in charge of our football club. I can accept you disregard the past when there's evidence of change or a new era under a new operation but this is the same mob, in our worst position in our entire history of existence and history is repeating itself from recent years of no manager and seemingly no plan.
It’s the hope I guess. Not sure how anyone can defend anything going on. So much uncertainty. It just feels Groundhog Day.
only slight ray of hope is the mccarron has an idea. But not holding my breath

Oh I agree. Our recent track record suggests a very real chance that we take ages and still appoint the wrong bloke. We just have to hope that McCarron's influence prevents this from happening. It's not much, but hope is all we've got.
Very sad situation

I think we can all agree that in an ideal world we'd recruit the strongest candidate possible and do it quickly so that he can get cracking. Unfortunately, given that we're now in League One and our reputation has taken a massive battering over the past few years, we're going to have to work very hard to persuade any talented manager with ambition to join our 'project'. This will take time, especially if the names we're targeting are currently in work (which will mean compensation will have to be paid for them) and/or are fielding offers from other clubs.
If the choice is between getting in a weak/mediocre manager tomorrow or taking longer to recruit a good one, then we just have to accept it's going to take time. It's not ideal but unfortunately we're not currently attractive enough to have talented young managers beating a path to our door.
I agree we should wait to appoint the right manager, but waiting doesn’t = appointment of right manager as we know already.

Could see it as an opportunity like Enzo?

Leicester City investment talks as consortium targets £100m training ground and stadium
Story by James Pallatt•Leicester City are said to be in investment talks that could see the club sell the King Power Stadium and £100m training ground.
A local consortium with strong property links has made an investment bid, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
The group is understood to want to buy both the club’s stadium and training ground and potentially a bigger share in the club in the future, with talks said to be at an early stage.
The Foxes are facing a new financial reality following a second relegation in two seasons. The club has plummeted from the Premier League to League One.
When City’s relegation from the Championship to League One was confirmed last month, chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha said he “will try” to keep investing into the club.
Speaking to supporters, Top said: “I did stay here 15 years and I put in a lot of money.” When asked if that will continue, he replied: “I will try.”
City have made more than £270m in losses over the past four years of accounts and so there is concern over how the club may cope with the drastic fall in revenue that comes with being in the third tier.
Top has put money into the club, but City have also used Australian bank Macquarie to take out loans to aid cash flow.
Speaking back in January, Top also made clear his stance on selling the club.
“Selling the club is not the way to exit,” he said. “I have to make sure that I complete everything that I did here before I want to leave. Now I need to make sure the club is in a good place.
“If some prince comes in, maybe yes, and the club can be like Man City for example! But I am sure that is a long, long way to go. I still love it here, I want to make sure the club is successful again.”
Might be that they see the planning had previously been granted Alfie the arena etc… and want to build on that.

I'll believe it when I see it.
It'll take a lot to crowbar the club from Top and I don't see why anyone would invest without getting a controlling stake.
Maybe he wants to keep a little stake in the club, but has realised he can’t take it further.
trying to think positively I know I’m being naive.

I might be wrong but I know he’s not the most reliable source but hasn’t he called quite a few things right for us over the last few years?
Ayew, one of the managers and a couple of other things.

Lommel promoted, somehow escaped with a 0-0 draw, Dender hit the bar and goal line clearance in injury time. Lommel 0.09 xG.
bullet hopefully dodged.
Might not rule out Robbie neilson.

As much as I’m not a fan of Martin, I don’t think we get relegated with him in charge last season.

Any chance that Man City get relegated two divisions and we escape a relegation saving us and West Ham ?
the penalties on city are imminent - pep leaving - Enzo in - saves the embarrassment of PG having to resign after City lied to him - Enzo has the youngsters as all the stars go on loan for a year or two whilst City comeback…..maybe it’s my imagination but hammering Southampton maybe a precursor to getting at City…….
i know it’s a pipe dream
No even if it did happen Oxford would stay up not us.

Robins, not sure about to be honest. Other than Cov and his 1st job at Rotherham his record is sketchy isn't it?

With proper direction what Villa have achieved could easily have been us. Not so long ago we were in a better position to recruit the better managers and players and we had the greater opportunity for sustained European football. Now they are major trophy winners whist we are looking at League One football. What a shambles KP has been.
Very true its such a waste if here we go too.
If Covid hadn't have happened they'd have likely gone down in 2020. But it did and the stayed up, since then they have made changes at the right point, made a poor appointment in Gerrard, but rectified that quickly.
Was crazy to think that was their 1st trophy for 30 years, in that time we have had 4 (5 if you included the shield) But I fear it will be us that goes 30 + years without any success now.
We have just follow bad decision after bad decision.

We never publish our retained list this early, so it’s not that baffling that we haven’t done so this time. And when it’s published it won’t tell us much we didn’t already know anyway.
The lack of announcement re: Rowett’s departure very likely means he’s being considered as a back-up option if none of the club’s preferred candidates works out. He clearly isn’t first choice or he would have been appointed by now, but he’s probably not been completely discarded as a candidate while the club is still in talks with other people. I agree this is worrying, but I think it’s probably what’s happening.
I think if we haven’t had a retained list by early June after the season finishes then it’ll be very strange.
In terms of the manager I’d expect we’d start to hear some names etc… after the season finishes too. If we don’t start hearing links and speculation in early to mid June I fear that more might be happening that is being let on, and not in a positive way.

I do think you can make a credible case that the playoffs should just be replayed. It's only two extra matches and it would be the fairest way to handle the situation. We'd certainly be screaming for it if we were in Wrexham's shoes.
You could for example play 1 extra game Anf have single leg semi final at a natural ground.
Biggers issue with it being a World Cup year it all needs to be sorted. Also poor hull fans have already booked travel etc…. and have done nothing wrong.

Wouldn't surprise me if Wrexham are kick off and say the play offs should be replayed etc... With them in it.
Though probably just the kind of thing we would do to be fair.

I don't read that aimed at the fans at all. "Demands the highest standards from each other and give everything every day" Thats aimed at players/staff.
There is so much negativity its easy to see it when its not there. I might be being naive, but I think if you read the 1st sentence its more taking resposibility.
Its not easy to ay too much when you are still employed by the club too.
