  1. Getting rid of Enzo's pet dog Balague has to be one of the greatest silver linings in the history of clouds.
  2. Completely understand your post, but to be honest I was more deflated going into this season playing Enzoball knowing the sort of players Rudkin is going to bring in and the fact Enzo will refuse to play to those players. I’m still slightly deflated because I’ve almost completely fallen out of love with football and we are in a bad position, but with the right managerial appointment I might gain some excitement back.
  3. It looks weak from the outside. BCFC fans were absolutely livid when he was sacked. Took a while to get really going, but from what I've seen/heard, he was uniting the fans massively.
  4. Now THAT i could get behind. Shame he's on 25m a year
  5. Posted a video I saw about him in another thread a few days ago, such an interesting tactical philosophy. I'd love to take a gamble on him in a couple of seasons if he's still there and doing well.
  6. Completely agree. I really don't care what football we play next season as long as we stayed up. I felt that Enzo would get battered in the prem trying to play his style which is why I was critical this season. I'd take negative football and staying up so we can stabilise for a few seasons before we experiment again.
  7. Given the position we are in, my top 2 would be Fischer and Moyes, voted Moyes for the sake of the poll as he has experience. The football isn't great, but he has a half decent record of signing good players on a smallish budget, and the turnaround he achieved at a disjointed West Ham is just what we need.
  8. Honestly I think he stays
  9. Give Moyes that foundation and he keeps us up IMO. Players I'd look at that could be cheap/free/loan if it was my football manager save. RB Coufal (Free) RB Ben Johnson (Free) If we didn't go for Coufal CB Maxence Lacroix (£20-25m) CB Soyuncu (Loan) CB Clement Lenglet (Loan) CAM Giovanni Reyna (Loan) CAM De Ketelaere (Loan) CAM Oliver Gloukh (Priority) (£20m) CAM Fabio Carvalho (Loan) CM Nicolo Rovella (Loan) LW/RW Ryan Sessegnon (free)
  10. From our fans or Chelsea?
  11. As per the forum rules I am now obliged to call you a route 1 merchant.
  12. I think where we are atm Jose would actually suit our players. We have slow defenders like Souttar and Vestergaard who would need to be replaced under most managers, Jose or Moyes could probably give Jan a 1 year extension and work with them, I don't care how we play next season. I cared this season because fundamentally I'm concerned Enzo's style will absolutely destroy us in the premier league, we need a manager to come in and get the best out of what we have, as unfortunately if the finances are as bad as we think, there are multiple players that we want to offload that we realistically might end up keeping, players like Soumare, Faes or even an extended Vestergaard. Honestly if you gave Moyes or Mourinho a back 4 of Kristiansen, Faes, Coady or Vesty and Ricardo, I think they would get the most out of them, and we then maybe wouldn't need to offload 3-4 defenders and sign 3-4 more.
  13. Yeah I get your point though, I do have a few reasons I'd back Mourinho to fit in here, but they are flimsy and based solely on faith
  14. Moyes job at West Ham has been phenomenal to be honest, they were all over the place when he took over. Completely agree. He has the experience we need to buy in cheap players who will roll their sleeves up, and he has the authority to drive the club forward whilst the clown show upstairs is in full circus mode.
  15. Yeah I'll admit me wanting Mourinho is more of a gut feeling rather than a well planned strategy
  16. If we could afford to buyout another manager using the Enzo money, I truly believe Andoni Iraola will be one of the best "young" managers in Europe in the coming years and is guaranteed a big club in the next few seasons. Rocky start at Bournemouth but they improved massively.
  17. Mourinho would be amazing, I think he would relish a chance to build a club but I think he will end up in international management next, I actually fancy him to take over England.
  18. I put a bigger list at the start but I think right now my priorities would be (In no particular order): Urs Fischer Moyes Corberan Franck Haise Laurent Blanc (unlikely) Lucien Favre
  19. Some interesting ones there. Haise would be my priority of these names, Corberan and Sarri would also be instant yes (would Sarri come?)
  20. This pisses me off to this day. 240m+ in transfers, the highest wage budget in history (one of the top 10 in Europe at one point was it not?) and a £100m training complex with the end result being turning some of the better "young" players in Europe like Ndidi into Championship fodder in the space of 2 years.
  21. If he does go I wish him well, something about his personality I like and I wanted to believe in his project. But we do not have the money he needs to make it work, and he's way too stubborn to adapt his system to the players we are likely to bring in. People seem to forget that it's Rudkin we are relying on to make the transfers work. Atleast at Chelsea he will have 762 players to choose from, and I think with a big budget if they move lots of players on Enzo could do okay there. Cannot blame him for leaving if it is indeed true that the club lied to him, thanks for promotion, his name will be in the history books as helping us in one of the most important seasons in our recent history and for that we must be thankful that it worked out.
  22. Agree with the premise of this in that keeping Enzo would be potentially more stable than rolling the dice, but I think it's a stretch to consider what we have as stable anyway. A manager who seemingly most fans think it's time to part ways with given the many polls we've had (polling is not everything I know), we have a bit of stability in the sense that the players know his play style, which automatically falls apart considering most of the players who know that playstyle are not good enough to play it in the premier league, we have a big clearout incoming and we lack the funds to bring the players in, and the manager needs very specific players to make the system work unless of course we suddenly expect that Rudkin is going to have the transfer window of the century and bring in 7-10 top class, technically gifted players for £5m a piece, and we have a manager who pretty much refused all season to adapt his system to fit the players at his disposal. I honestly believe if we try to play this way in the premier league he will be gone by Christmas. Personally I think if we brought in someone like David Moyes, he would bring us far more stability in the next 18 months than Enzo Maresca will.
  23. I don’t see it as bizarre logic really, I don’t trust Balague, just as I don’t trust other media outlets. If all of them are saying the same thing it will have more merit, when I said media pet I was talking specifically about Balague who is very clearly a mouthpiece for Enzo who has been pushing a narrative for weeks. It could easily be true but if he’s the only source I’d question it which was my point. If reputable sources have shared it then that’s fair enough and it’s bang out of order from the club, I hadn’t really kept up with that.
  24. Genuinely asking as i'm not sure if I've missed something, but has there actually been evidence that the club lied/misled Enzo? or is this all just Enzo's pet in the media telling us that?
