Has there been any confirmation that Ayew is more often played because he's “better defensively”? Fatawu is as mad as a hatter. He's capable of the absolute sublime and the ridiculous. I think that unpredictability is why Cooper seems to favour Ayew. I would say that Fatawu requires constant attention from a coach in game whereas Ayew is probably less chaotic and more experienced at handling situations individually. I personally would start Fatawu over Ayew and have Ayew coming off the bench to hold onto points. I think that focuses on both of their strengths. Take the Bournemouth game for instance. I think we gain more from having Fatawu help establish a lead in the game but then to have a wily old fox like Ayew coming off the bench to help take the pressure off the team. I think it’s pretty undeniable that he’s excellent at relieving pressure, holding the ball up and winning fouls.

The issue for me is that he was working at the club for 25 years and was unceremoniously dumped for something he didn't have total control over. All in line with KPFC's cult over family approach.

Over the course of 7 games? Yeah, it's relatively common to over or underperform expected goals. But over the course of a season they generally even out. But aside from that, the obvious underperformance we're seeing with our own eyes is enough to get rid of Cooper. The stats are just backing up what we're all seeing.

Because there has only been 7 league games. The underlying numbers suggests that if we continue to play as we are we won't continue to get points in games where we've been outplayed.
